The location was good and a food shop is next door. The property has good facilities.
There were moulds in some rooms and could do well with having some instructions on how to use the central heating.

The landlady was helpful and accommodating. She went the extra mile to ensure our comfort, even bringing in a stool from her own house (on site) to make chopping veg in the kitchen more comfortable for my disabled hip!
While you can hear passing traffic when the windows are open, the layout and feel of the cottage is pleasantly rural and the enclosed mature garden is a beautiful oasis of calm.

The location was in between many lovely places to go to by car, to take the dogs for a walk. It is an adequate hub to use to travel from.
As mentioned in many previous reviews for the last few years, the cottage isn’t well maintained, when we arrived the owner had her door open and her dogs were left to continuously yap and bark at us, us explaining that we had 2 dogs in the back of the car she was shocked that we had dogs as she said she normally knows when people bring dogs though there was no option or comment to say we were bringing dogs, she was keen to briefly show us around and very keen to keep chatting away at us also felt she was too intrusive. We were told that we shouldn’t use the front door as the pathway was rocky and unstable. It is also not mentioned that the garden is shared with owners 3 dogs, we were unable to have full use of the conservatory and garden because of this issue, we were also unwelcomed with owners dog’s barking at the door, causing our dogs to be unsettled and nervy. The beds were very uncomfortable leaving us both with neck pains in the morning after. Many areas were covered in mould, damp, scratches and flaky, patchy walls and black skirting boards (also mentioned in previous reviews left for many years not been resolved). Cobwebs everywhere and food left on plates from previous people (had to scrub before use). Not to mention the bath was unaccessible as the water ran green still after 4 times of running it during the stay. We wouldn’t stay here again if we were made fully aware of how it was going to be upon arrival we wouldn’t have booked. Lastly, we were able to semi enjoy the garden only until the owner had left even then the eyesore is not acceptable as you are met with pallets, boxes, bin bags and metal ibc frames all over. I could go on but if nothing has been done during the 6 years I can see poor reviews nothing will change now. Poorly up-kept and not properly advertised. Not to mentioned at 23:30 of the last night the heating had turned off and we had no more firewood or cardboard. I have ample pictures of the cottage to prove all points raised above.
