The room was the absolute highlight since it was spacious, modern and extremely clean. We even had a little balcony with a lovely view on the church tower. The bed was extremely comfortable and overall the room was very functional. Since there is no reception desk, we did not how to checkin until arriving but it turned out to be very smooth and efficient. The lady from the restaurant we spoke to was very friendly and took her time to guide us to the room and explain the basics. Finally, I believe the location is ideal since you are in the heart of the old charming town.
The experience overall was positive, however I believe since there are absolute no hotel-type services, the price point was slightly above what I think would have been fair : there is no breakfast option in house, no reception, security staff or any info desk for general questions. It is basically a room above a restaurant and not the best option if you like having more assistance or guidance when travelling. Therefore, the around 200.- CHF per night were a bit elevated and I would not have necessarily payed it if it wasn't a last minute kind of necessity from my side.

at first a bit surprised with the reception but they were helpful and hospitable at the US Mex resto. Good beds, nice soap

Large room, excellent location and very helpful staff. Cafe breakfast options were good and we discovered the excellent Caffe Spectacolo at the top of Vordergasse was open on Sunday morning when the others were closed.

Centrally located, great that there is a restaurant right below the hotel. They also give you a discount voucher. Staff is very polite and helpful. Overall clean with decent size bed. Basic amenitie are welcome, like shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush etc.
There is NO soundproofing. My room was right next to the street and a church right opposite so the basic need to sleep was not met due to the high noise level all night. One of the 3 windows was also cracked, which must be repaired for client safety. The cleanliness in the shower could be improved as there was mould at the edges of the shower.
