A quirky building in a lovely location—ideal, above all, for taking the commuter train into Amsterdam or visiting the very instagrammable museum-like Dutch village of Zaanse Schans. The hotel is part of a shopping complex, so there are plenty of shops in the immediate vicinity. Our room was spacious, featuring a well-equipped bathroom and excellent beds. The two elevators struggle a bit to handle 12 floors—especially in the morning—but things work out in the end. There is a nearby parking garage that is reasonably priced by Dutch standards.

Fantastic building, attentive staff and a great location for exploring Amsterdam by train or Zaandam on foot
Hotel bar was a bit of a fun sponge at night but plenty of other options nearby

Location
Gigantic corridor in the room, room to small. Breakfast in the lobby is a no go, also the food below average.
