Breakfast was included but, as they would be closed for it, we've got only panini and a fruit juice.

Overall, it is worth what you pay. The breakfast, location, parking and the room I stayed at had a beautiful view.

Pension Lukas is a short ride away from Karlovy Vary, reachable by bus or car from the accommodation. It has good potent
Pension Lukas is an accommodation with potential - one can see that in its heyday, it used to be a nice place to come for comfort, fun, and relaxation while being in the close reach of Karlovy Vary. However, the place has gone into disrepair and poor hospitality practices, and your experience will likely vary greatly by which room you are given. Although we visited during the cold winter, the backyard, public playground in the front, and surrounding town were enjoyable for a walk and play. It is only a short drive or bus ride into Karlovy Vary, and Pension Lukas offers 15% discount to the Alz. Lazne facility for spa procedures.
We booked an apartment for the family, as advertised on booking.com and Airbnb. Upon arrival, the lady owner told (i.e. lied, as we later found out) us that the apartment was “broken” and therefore she would give us two separate rooms. One of the room stank very badly of sewage, both had carpet that my brother later had allergic reactions to (we had specifically chosen the apartment because it had hardwood floors). Given that our children were already tired and cranky, and that the payment had already been made, we took the rooms, aired out the sewer-smelling room, and did not enter the smelly bathroom. For one night, we thought we could bear it and did not want to bother the owner who seemed cranky and burnt out herself. The true shock came the next morning, when we got up and met guests coming out from the apartment we had booked! The owner is engaging in dishonest practices by showcasing the best room, double booking, then offering lesser rooms to guests. If she had apologized for the double booking (it happens), let us see all the rooms available (turned out there were two other rooms with hardwood floors empty, but she likely didn’t want to put us there lest we find out about her lie) and choose, all would have been fine. It’s truly a shame that an accommodation with potential is being run this way.

I would not choose it again
Quiet neighbourhood, soft towels, good breakfast (although not buffet).
Lack of hospitality from hosts: despite the fact that on my Booking reservation checkin appeared until 22.00, I wrote (in English) around 18.30 to the host to tell we are going to arrive at 22.00. At 21.30 I received a response in Czech language, saying that reception was open until 20.00 (with lots of exclamation marks) and that the person will do us a favor and accommodate us until 22.00 but after that reception will be closed. The sender didn't seem to care too much about where we would spend the night. When I suggested if possible to leave the key for us in a mailbox or something similar, they got the idea and finally we managed to spend the night inside rather than outside. All this communication took place in Czech, and I had to use Google translate, bacause they didn't bother to do it. Strange enough, the person who served breakfast in the morning and cashed the payment spoke English pretty well... Overall, we felt we were not welcome here. Other things which we didn't like: cleanliness - we caught 2 very big spiders in the appartment, which seemed to be there undisturbed for a long time, bathroom - shower tub was broken on the inside, and the shower cap fixture in the wall was very loose, making very difficult to attach the shower cap on it; beds - I found them too hard for me, plus many other small maintenance issues.
