The food - both dinner & breakfast the next morning - was very good, although we were initially taken aback that it was quite expensive. (18 euros for breakfast and circa 30euros for a main at dinner) However, we felt that the prices were fair in the end vs the quality that they served. For us this was the best part of the stay, we had a delicious meal.
The man who greeted us was pleasant, if a little strange, but very helpful with recommendations and advice of the local area.
Sadly we were disappointed when we arrived as the pictures advertised were taken a while ago and the chateaux was in need of some TLC and updating. It also felt a little eery, and lacked the charm & ambience that we were expecting from the pictures.
We also found the laminate flooring upstairs to be a real shame and some of the traditional features of the chateaux ruined. It felt a bit like a school/old people’s home and again lacked charm we were expecting.
The pool area wasn’t very inviting, nor the spa, but some people may like it.
The town is ok, nothing special, so not much to do there but we did find a cute bakery to buy some fresh croissants.
