Environmentally conscious setting with a very good restaurant

On property restaurant was very good with innovative and delicious dishes. Lively vive. The room was environmental sustainability with very pleasant soft music.

The bed and chairs were too low to get up from.

We’d def come back - think it’s a great spot.

Loved the gardens, view and great food and drink.

Our room was facing the car park so a bit noisy.

Speaker in bedroom

Expected better for the price paid and it was supposed to be an upgraded room with mountain view! But bed room actually faced the road. Can see a bit of mountain from living room. Sofa bed was far too soft and 3 of us ended up sharing the queen bed. Pressure in shower was low and water can suddenly turn too hot or cold. Staff was not a reception most of the time but came quickly when we called. Didnt provide milk in the room and when we asked for it, was only given half a small bottle.

Exceptional

Everything - especially the restaurant! Wonderful yoga class. And my favourite book ever was on the coffee table in my room ‘Be here now - Ram Dass’!!

Totally unimpressed and deceptive advertising.

This belongs in the WHAT WE DIDNT LIKE, BUT I AM NOT TYPING IT AGAIN. Over priced , unacceptable maintenence including bathroom and broken chair . refurbished old motel claiming eco style but we called it cheap charlie, using old army blankets for curtains and also on the bed, bathroom upgrade resulted in a 30 cm step up toget in the shower and large loose grate in the middle of the floor approx 15 cm wide was partially fixed after 1 day delay, after notifying reception. Mini bar consisted of glass bottles for beer and wine you had to go to the bar to fill at exorbitant prices. Over all the most expencive underwelming stay in 1 month stay in NZ.

Adequate stay, pricey though

Food in the restaurant was excellent

Rooms are a bit tired and dark. Concrete floor very cold. Rather expensive for the facilities provided.

Unforgettable stay, with great views and incredible food! We can’t wait to visit again.

We loved our stay here, the rooms were big and had thoughtful touches throughout. The food at the restaurant was incredible and added to our stay here.

No heated towel rails or place to hang the towels to dry

Comfortable but if prices go up will be no value for money in my opinion

Location

We were a large group consisting of a few families and were only given the option of set menu at the restaurant. This was $95 pp (excluding drinks) and was exact same as standard menu with less food. This was charged even if we sat as individual family’s at tables or split into under 10 per table. The lunch menu also the exact same foods as the dinner menu meaning if you dine for lunch and dinner the food optional are the same No variety.

Very nice stay and would go back again

food and ambience in the restaurant was excellent would love to eat there again and again

Sauna was a great and much needed , and having yoga as a bonus activity was what drew us to the place. Was very happy to be in such a eco friendly accommodation. They are doing a great job

We love the restaurant. Great every time. So we decided to try staying at the hotel, but are not likely to stay again.

The room looked nice, but was very dated: No working thermostat, very old, plastic bathroom fixtures (though it was a nice shower) and NO soundproofing, so you could hear everything in the room next door or in the corridor.

not what we expected, and for the price $235 per night not value for money

location was fine, between airport and town

did not have a toaster and no TV, we were expecting for a 4 star hotel that this would of been standard, but understood on arrival that the hotel was a more boutique/ eco type of hotel. Was also expecting a separate bedroom as while the description said entire ensuite it also said 1 bedroom instead of saying two beds within the room

Loved staying here. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Love the sustainability aspect of the Sherwood and the food at the restaurant was amazing.

Looks a bit tired from the outside.

Friendly vibe.

Good location, plenty of parking, friendly and helpful staff. Food was brilliant. Rooms spacious and very comfortable . Lovely ambiance around hotel.

eco ideal hotel

I love that they take sustainability really seriously in their operations and restaurant. really good tea in the rooms as well.

would have been nice to have a microwave in the room! bunk beds were kind of odd?

Location.

Staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Room was ok, did not have a TV and the projectors were never available. We felt it was overpriced for what it was.
