The hotel has a magical location amid beautifully planted herb gardens with wonderful views of hills and the sea. There is a lovely pool with bar offering great aperitifs at sunset. The rooms are immaculate with many thoughtful touches - beach bag, sun hats. The beach club is wonderful, excellent food and the beach itself has amazing sand and pure, clear water. You can lie in full sun or under the pine trees.
The staff are friendly and incredibly professional.
Great place for a couple looking for a heavenly, peaceful retreat. Would highly recommend.
The breakfast is terrific but the evening meals are not Sicilian enough. It’s very fine dining and a bit stuffy. And too expensive! We ate out at local fish restaurants at nearby port villages. Fantastic authentic food and amazing value.
Planeta should offer more grills and maybe a BBQ night. The wine from the family vineyard was delicious.

It's in a beautiful location, the rooms are large and clean, with lovely terraces out onto the herb gardens. Excellent breakfast choices and the restaurant is great. Lovely infinity pool and poolside bar, as well as a delightful beach club not far away - all superb.
Disappointed in the "breakfast boxes" we were given for our early morning departure - should have perhaps included some savoury options rather than cake!

Dinners were absolutely first rate. The food was sublime (the best swordfish and the best prawns I have ever had), the wine incredible value, and the service warm, attentive and special.
The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a great shower.
The view over the vineyards and down to the sparkling sea was magical, and there are lots of benches and nooks to enjoy it from.
Great day trips to archaeological sites and nature reserves within an hour's drive.
When we complained about some of the flaws below, the manager was very apologetic.
Although the hotel was full, it felt as though they were running a skeleton staff for the low season.
The private beach was advertised as open but turned out to be closed.
When we checked in we were told the pool bar was open for drinks and light lunches, but it never opened once. You could place an order for it to be delivered there, but finding someone and doing so was a palaver.
Rooms weren't made up by 330pm.
The cushions for the sunloungers were heavily stained from overuse.
Breakfast was inferior in quality - I've had better at 2-star ski hotels - and the service was shambolic. Just two staff could not cope with bringing hot drinks, serving from the Covid-safe buffet, and attending to other requests. Other guests felt similarly and it became something of a race to see who could get to breakfast the earliest!
They lay out cushions for pre-dinner drinks, but they're kept outside over night. One evening, the cushion's core was sodden and soaked my trousers as soon as I sat down. I had to change. The waiter offered no apology.
