Need for an upgrade

The location had good proximity to my destination.

No breakfast. No WiFi. Dirty toilet. The bed and chair are bad and worn out. No kitchen, no fridge, no laundry. Couldn't wash my clothes. Their services and facilities need to be upgraded. I wasn't impressed at all.

Not too bad for the price but lack of hot water and thin walls made it hard to sleep most nights

Secure gate for vehicle safety, had wifi

No hot shower, No soap to wash hands, thin walls with extremely loud guests, no heating as dial had been removed from radiator.

terrible

unfortunately our stay at Ruxley rooms was not pleasant. the rooms were overcrowded for the stay, and the bed was made everyday but no fresh linen or towels for the whole 10 nights I stayed. rooms were cold and the showers was absolutely pointless as they were freezing alongside a moody bathroom. every night was unbelievably noisy ok this might not be the owners fault but there should be some noise policy monitored. this included we could here everything even the minor conversations in rooms next to us. I just wanted to stay whilst I had a busy 10 days 12hr a shifts at work but unfortunately it wasn’t a place where I couldn’t catch decent sleep and the worst place I ever stayed to say I travel each week and use hotels/rooms each week.

Very bad

Lady bugs were everywhere in the room, the bathroom was outside the room I had to go downstairs before I could have my bath. I do not recommend!

In a quiet far area

Comfort bed. Quiet area Friendly staff

Far from shops No sound proof between rooms, I had difficulty to fall asleep because the man next room was talking in his telephone most of the time. Also the wood floor was causing many noise

Ruxley Rooms

The location was good to see family in the area. CCTV cameras outside the property & inside the corridors of the property so felt very safe. Big gates to the carpark so felt the car was secure of a night.

First time staying giving our normal hotel was fully booked. Property & fittings are very tired & worn, walls are very thin so hear everyones steps or conversations.... light fittings broken so no light shades & bulbs flickered..... blind on bedroom window broken so down the whole time. Property has option of shared toilets & showers for most rooms so people can be heard walking the landing/corridors all night to use them. Couple of rooms have ensuites which of course you can pay extra for. The boiler is loud when people use taps so again can wake you up if at night time. Bedding had black marks on fitted sheet, TV in room had very poor signal so any programme picture was blurred & sound would come & go... It is a basic facility, matched to the going prices for accommodation in that area, its secure, water pressure is good & room cleaning offered every day. I would recommend Ruxley Rooms to anyone who needs accommodation in that area, just be aware of the standards & age of the property to avoid disappointment. 👍

Very poor

Not much to be honest?

This place used to be ok for trades like myself. All you want is a comfy bed a TV that actually works and a decent shower. Unfortunately as this place has changed hands over the last few weeks the majority of these small asks aren't being done. There has been hardly any hot water in the place for the last two weeks and no towels even left in the rooms. In fact even trying to check in has been difficult as the new manager/owner seems to be preoccupied making his friends feel welcome rather than his guests. No toilet roll left in the toilets and on the occasion it is it's not even put in the dispenser and basically just dumped on the floor. No hot water pretty much for the last two weeks. And as a trade hotel us men and women need a shower at the end of a days work because we are covered in debris and dirt. Twice I've messaged the so called manager with issues about the place and had absolutely no communication back. But he's seemingly busy trying to act the big man in front of his friends rather than run the business as it should be done.. This place used to be a decent place for trades to stay but not anymore. I can't and won't reccomend this place to anyone. Since the new management has taken over this hotel has gone downhill and really isn't worth the near £200 a week price they ask. The only amenities you get in a kettle. And these days you can't even rely on getting a hot shower after a hard days work. I've worked away from home for years and there are way better places than Ruxley rooms to stay. Anyone thinking about staying there really should think again because you don't even get the basics. Or any communication with your host. AVOID this place unless it's your only option

looks a lot better in the photos then it is, could be a great place to stay but no love there just want your money and it shows. If you want a room bed 4 walls and a ceiling then fine.

Lovely weekend getaway

Lovely property, room was excellent and staff all very friendly.

The gated entrance, me and my partner came home from a night out and the gates were locked, had to wait 20-25mins until someone realised and let us in, but staff were very friendly about it though.

Very nice and very very CLEAN

This place exceeded my expectation, very clean rooms and the shared facilities were excellent condition and very clean , large / spacious..

Some of the lights didnt work, and repairs were attended to quickly

Very good

The staff were very friendly and helpful . We could have eaten there but was visiting family. The food sounded lovely. Free parking, great location off the road.

The room was nice but I had to clean the outside of the toilet . My husband turned the shower on. There was a split in the flexi pipe and the water went on the floor. The place could be fantastic , just needs some TLC in some areas

Lovely, welcoming clean place to stay. Highly recommend.

The accommodation was excellent and excellent value for money. The owners and staff friendly. Very clean room which, for a small independent property was a very pleasant thing to find. Lovely stay. Thanks to those involved
