The staff was the best part of the hostel, especially the two women working at the front. They were helpful and answered all questions about hikes and gave great tips! They stored my luggage. Kitchen was decent, liked the open seating and also liked the open seating of common rooms throughout the hostel.
As others have stated in reviews, I had a single room for $50/a night (expensive in a hostel), it was tiny, and I could hear everything. I was right outside the kitchen and had to wear ear plugs every single night. I heard people getting up at 3.45am to hike to a sunrise - which is fine - no one can help the structure and soundproofness of the building. It's an older building and love the history of it, but for what I paid for and what little sleep I got, and how small the room was, while preparing for big hikes, it was tough to justify the price.

We stayed in the apartment which was very spacious and had a great shower
There were no blinds on the windows only light curtains on 2 of the 4 windows. There were street lights and lights attached to the building right near one of our windows so it was very bright at night. It was also a little cold but there were plenty of blankets so it was warm in bed

Great location, I could also borrow hiking poles. Very spacious space.
Breakfast was very rudimentary. The room was very basic and a bit chilly most of the time and the wifi in the room was bad, since I think the room is far from the router, since in the common area wifi works great. Overall, it’s on the pricey side for what you get. I stayed in a private room.
