Close to everything, the bus station, the supermarket, the city center and the pier. The room has everything for the perfect stay. AC, comfy bad, no noise, very good wifi, free water, and plenty of cats around ;)

A well priced, simple, no frills Pousada. Very friendly staff. Excellent location. My room and the outdoor space was nice. Would stay here again. The family that run it were very pleasant.

We had a wonderful time here thanks to the lovely mother and daughter who run this place. They were so friendly. The room was good; quite spacious with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The location is very close to the historical center (right on its edge, really), so it is easy to walk to numerous restaurants, cafes, and other useful services like laundromats. When we were here, there had been a lot of rain and the sea water actually breached into the city; all the streets in the city were flooded. The owner stayed up all night making sure the water didn’t enter the guesthouse. We felt well taken care of.
If you are allergic to cats you’ll want to skip it; there are several cats who stay outside on the patio. The are sweet and calm (all quite senior in age). We loved them but if you are allergic it may be problematic. The entrance gate is off the main street in a little square that is busy during the day with trucks supplying the nearby supermarket, but can feel too quiet at night when it is empty. The gate is well lit though and has security cameras. We never felt unsafe.
