First, the view was incredible. It’s on a higher elevation so you can see the large Tori gates on the water from our room.
Second, the food was amazing! Multiple courses for both dinner and breakfast in our half board stay
Third, the baths were so relaxing. Each room is also allowed half an hour reservation at their private onsen that’s just on the outside of the property
Fourth, it was really helpful to give them the keys to the coin lockers for them to pick up from the ferry pier. They also dropped it off at the pier when we were leaving too

It was a lovely place to stay for the night in Miyajima and experience the island at night. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The Japanese style dinner and breakfast were phenomenal and very beautifully presented. Our daughter’s dietary required no meat was accommodated with no problem at all. A real experience of a traditional ryokan with the ease of modern life.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Quick to respond with any questions. Excellent shuttle service to the station upon checkout. Room was spacious with an amazing view overlooking the shrine.
Rooms were very outdated and worn with a distinct mold smell which lingered on our clothes. We had to wash everything after we reached our next hotel. A very steep and long stair climb up to the property with no handicapped access. Not friendly for tired legs.
