Great location, safe and have everything you need. Access to two beaches, walking distance to the pier that takes you to the Ixtapa Island. Staff is wonderful, this is our 3rd time in Ixtapa and 2nd to this location, planning to come back. Great food,
Has plenty of activities.
Not having priority to book at the oyster restaurant, but overall had great time.

Food in the speciality restaurants was not very good. The Buffet was better but did get tiring after 6 days. My spouse got sick after eating in the Italian restaurant. The specialty restaurants were easy to reserve and not always available and after trying two of them that were available, we decided we were better off eating at the buffet.

We were in Mexico already and left our little rental Casa for an all inclusive treat for our anniversary. Luckily we had no flight to worry about. On our trip down to Mexico in November we used Booking.com. Never again. They overcharged us $100 dollars on one piece of luggage. I booked a second piece of luggage directly with Aeromexico and realized the discrepancy. I will never use Booking.com again because they don’t handle complaints themselves yo cannot get a fair decision. We tried many times to get fair compensation from Booking.com. If they would have dealt with us fairly they might still have future bookings with us but now we are done. Luckily the hotel Azul Ixtapa Grand went well with Booking.com which I had booked far in advance but I would recommend booking with someone different than Booking.com. Booking.com doesn’t have a decent way of dealing with any booking problems because you are not talking to Booking.com directly.
Dogs stay at this hotel. I didn’t see many little dogs. Guests are mostly Mexican and they had their big dogs up on the padded cabana at the pool. The cabana was a pleasant place for people but it was used as a dog bed. It is quite expensive to bring a dog to this hotel. I heard it was a thousand pesos a night. You better have plenty of money to bring a dog to this hotel and from what I saw there were very well -to - do guests at this hotel. Large families in the dining areas. Noisy families and screaming children. The parents of the screaming children did nothing to try to quieten the kids. Inside The big buffet restaurant, it echoed with the loud families. We had one a la carte dining night ruined by screaming kids.
