About this house rental
Situated in Portland, this charming house for $537 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. **We generally only accept 4-night stays especially during spring, summer, and holidays. However, we welcome shorter requests when the calendar allows, so please feel free to contact us about this. If you are interested in a shorter booking send an inquiry first before using instant book.** Whole House Alberta Quick Facts: You are renting both parts of the duplex so you have 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms! 7 bedrooms (4 in top part- 3 in lower part) 3.5 bathrooms (2 full in top part- 1.5 in lower part) You need to walk outside to access the units, they aren't connected on the inside Step into an authentic Portland experience in this amazing totally remodeled 7-bedroom duplex, located in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. Walk to coffee, dining, unique shops...or people-watch from the large bay window or cozy patio. Alberta Street is never short on variety--from juggling bicyclists to dogs dining with their owners at the Tin Shed Cafe (across the street!)...pubs, co-op grocery, galleries, and shops...and you can easily walk to it all. We have partnerships with many of the local stores, giving you incredible discounts- a major perk with renting this house! The house sleeps up to 15 guests and was designed and used as a full time rental. We provide fresh linens, a fully-stocked kitchen, flat screen TV, wifi, and all the comforts of home. A well behaved dog is allowed. The pet fee is $175. The upper level has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths plus a patio facing Alberta Street. The lower level has 3 bedrooms 1.5 baths and large patio just off the side yard area....Each unit has a full kitchen, living/dining space, and a washer/dryer. Many guests use the upper level as the socializing/dinner area..and save the lower level for guests who need some quiet time...or great for a place for the kids to hang out. To clarify, this is a true duplex with separate entrances (you cannot enter the units from the interior) but a very popular choice for large groups. One unit is entered from the front and one from the back. The side outdoor area is spacious and includes a large picnic table, grill, and a very cool play structure for the kids. 15 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to downtown and there's a bus stop on the corner. Best of all, it's within an easy drive to all that Portland has to offer-from hiking near Mt. Hood, a zoo visit downtown, a day trip to the incredible Oregon coast. Plus directly outside your door is Alberta Street- the authentic, local neighborhood vibe will welcome and amaze you. There are so many bars, cafes, stores and restaurants all within a lovely stroll. This rental has it all--location, comfort, and space! Need more space? We have two other rentals in the chic Mississippi District. We are fully permitted and compliant with the City of Portland. Gathering of 5 longtime HS friends and their mates for a shared birthday celebration this year. Great upstairs /downstairs layout for both shared time together and occasional privacy. Wonderful location in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. Michelle & Klaas are warm, excellent hosts. Provided a special birthday gift to us. Everyone enjoyed the house, the location, and the our 5 day experience there - and meeting Michelle and Klaas!

We stayed in both units as part of a big group of friends. Plenty of beds, baths, room to hang out, stocked kitchens with coffee, and beautiful spaces! Location was good with lots of food and drinks nearby, and also well located to access other neighborhoods in the city.

I celebrated my birthday with my husband and several friends, and this was the perfect house for the occasion. We rented the top and bottom units and everyone fit comfortably with plenty of space. There are so many cool restaurants, bars, and shops within minutes of walking, and we felt safe walking around the neighborhood. The hosts are super friendly and responded very quickly to the question we had. Beds were comfortable, as were the sofas/chairs in the living room where we hung out. The back patio was a fun area to socialize. I definitely recommend this house!

This is one of the better vacation homes that I have ever rented. Thoughtfully laid out, well supplied, and clean and comfortable. Parking can be a little tough at times but it’s worth it to be right in the middle of Alberta with access to all the restaurants and shops. Thanks Shift!

What an amazing stay! We booked this as the end of our trip and wanted to stay in Portland but not downtown. This was such an amazing location for our family. Everyone had their own space & the kids enjoyed the toys. We took advantage of being in walking distance to so many places. We tried many different eateries, bakeries, shops & bars in our short 3 day trip. Would definitely stay here again!

from the moment we arrived, we were impressed. the location was perfect for our needs. everything was in walking distance - restaurants, coffee, co-op market, shops. we have the entire house which was great for our needs. people could sleep downstairs while the rest of us stayed up and talked all night in the upstairs house. both living spaces were well furnished... and did i mention the welcome gift!! so thoughtful!! i have already recommended the space to people who have asked about my trip to Portland!!

Perfect house for our vacation
This was the perfect house and perfect location for our girls getaway to Portland, OR. It was close to anything you could need. And the owners were super responsive and helpful with everything we needed. I would highly recommend this location and look forward to visiting again soon.

Lots of amenities, inside and out
We had a perfect holiday break in this lovely house, which was large enough to accommodate an extended family gathering (top and bottom units combined). The location is fantastic, allowing early risers to grab a coffee or breakfast, and shoppers to wander to their heart's content. Lots of amenities, inside and out. We would definitely return!

The greatest place to stay in Portland
This location was perfectly located (close to downtown Portland and the airport, but the neighborhood itself was great and filled with great places to eat and hang). Checking in was stress-free and the house itself is big and private. Enough space for 15 to live comfortably. Thank you!

We rented the whole house for a large group of visitors and had an amazing time. There isn't a single thing wrong with the home and everything you would ever need is there. If anyone is ever visiting Portland this is the first place I'd send them.

Graet for a large group
The location in the Alberta Arts district is great; lots of shops and local restaurant and bar options. Everything you might want is within blocks and this is a vibrant Portland neighborhood. Street parking was never difficult. We rented both houses and it was a great place for gathering. Each house was just as pictured - plenty roomy, very clean, and well stocked with everything we could need. We spent much of our time in the outdoor space. Be prepared, however - the house is literally right on Alberta in the midst of shops and we found that many people perceive it as public space and seem to gather in the outdoor space through the day and the evening, using the chairs and the picnic table or playing in the back. In general, though, people were friendly and it never felt too intrusive. Overall we loved the location and public transportation to downtown Portland was a breeze. I would recommend this as a wonderful place for a group to gather on a trip to Portland.
