The onsen at the sister hotel was lovely. I would recommend staying there instead of at Tokonamiso. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. I was grateful for the shuttle service because this hotel is very deep in to the forest, far from anything.
Many, many flying beetles in the room and the common space. Feels outdated and smelled strong of mildew. Cold white lighting. No food available onsite so you must bring your own food with you. No utensils available so I wasn’t even able to eat the food I brought with me. No staff on site, they are at sister hotel. It felt like they were just trying to make some money by renting out an abandoned building
