Great location and lovely views from the window.
The apartment was bright, spacious, and very clean.
Overall check-in process was relatively straightforward.
Check-in communication: On arrival day, I was asked to call one hour prior and again upon arrival. When I called, I was simply given two door access codes. In hindsight, these could have easily been provided in advance via email or Booking.com messages, which would have saved time and effort on both sides.
The wellness area and health incident (the main issue): I booked a time slot for the jacuzzi and sauna. When I arrived, the area was empty. As soon as I turned on the jacuzzi, there was an overpowering smell of chlorine so strong that it irritated my airways, made it difficult to breathe, and triggered severe coughing. I had to leave the wellness zone immediately. It is unlikely this was an individual hypersensitivity, as I had used a similar jacuzzi facility just a week prior without any issues.
Support and lack of follow-up: I first contacted the maintenance company (number listed on the wall), who assured me that chemical levels are checked daily. I then called the property management to explain the situation and asked if they could call an ambulance for me. I was told that I would have to call medical emergency services myself because they couldn't describe my symptoms. Being a foreign guest in Zakopane, I wasn't confident I could overcome the language barrier to explain an acute chemical inhalation situation clearly over the phone. Fortunately, after a few hours of resting, the symptoms subsided, leaving only a residual cough. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up care. While I understand the apartment owners do not directly maintain the wellness area, it is offered as part of the booking experience. No one reached out afterwards to check if I was alright or needed any assistance; the only subsequent contact was a call the day before departure to ask when I would be checking out. A little empathy and proactive customer care would have made a big difference in an otherwise pleasant stay.
