Hands down the worst experience I've ever had in almost 15 years with Booking.com

Absolutely nothing. In fact, the experience was so appalling I ended up booking another flat instead, even though Interhomes refused to cancel the booking. It was worth eating $770 not to deal with these people.

I have been a booking.com client for almost 15 years, and achieved Genius Level 3. I saw a nice flat Tear MEGA CGR, The post read: "Key location will be disclosed after you book.." The booking was non-cancellable, but I didn't really care because almost every single Booking.Com I've ever made had this sentence. Once you book, the host immediately sends you every detail about the Key Lock Box and the Property, which are inevitabley less than a three minute walk from the property and often right on in.. As soon I booked, I was informed the key was only avaible for pickup at a country club 15 km from the property. 15 km out of the way from the Biarritz Airport. Basically an hour and a half from the airport to the property or a 60 euro cab ride. Without a car, I ws dependent on taxis and public transportation. I wanted to canel immediately, and when I finally managed to get in touch with someone at the country club, they refused to canel. they only offered unacceptatble options. And every time I tried to get an answer they had to contact Switzerland a for an answer, a process that took two or three days. I had two conversations with Booking.com agents, who were incredibly patient and undestanding, and felt that Interhomes failure disclose the fact the key wasn't near the Property was sufficient graounds for a Cancellation Waiver. They contacted me after they hung up with Interhomes, and I could tell by the tone i their voices that they were even more frustrated than I was. I have snail mailed a Formal Complaint to Booking.com but have not hear back from them.
