It is such a lovely area and so unique to get the ferry over and back. The castle was fabulous and lovely to have a drink or a meal in. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The lodges are exceptional, everything you would need and want for a stay. Plenty of walks, playground and football goals for kids to play along with other things like clay pigeon and golf.

Location of the apartment, food in the hotel, space in the apartment
Some electrical items and lights not working.
It would have been nice to hear some Irish voices from the staff. Staff were very friendly but we did not come across a single Irish employee.
We were told beforehand that the hotel was closed for most of our stay for a private function and that we could eat at the golf club. But this was also closed.

The Castle is beautiful and the food in the restaurant was amazing. We really enjoyed the golf course and food in the the clubhouse. You are surrounded by nature and can disconnect from the day to day.
Our Lodge property had no hot water, we think it was just a technical issue as the properties are modern. We are a family of 5 and needed showers each day. We did call it in to reception, but it wasn't clear whether maintenance called to fix it. In the end we had no hot water showers for the 2.5 days. It's also worth ringing ahead to see if a wedding is happening during your stay as generally you will have no access to the Castle during these private events.
