Bridge Guest House

The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A thoughtful brochure had been put in the bedrooms, with all the information that guests would need for their stay. The position of the guest house, built beside the bridge and overlooking the Exe river, was stunning, as well as an easy walk to all restaurants in the town. My bedroom was on the top floor and had a view over the river and bridge. It was small but adequate, very clean and had everything that I needed. The bed was large and comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was quite small, but the shower itself was big enough and worked very well. The breakfasts were fine, with coffee refills as required, and a full English on offer, if wanted. Since I was there over the weekend, the parking in the courtyard behind the guest house was ideal. I left very satisfied, and feeling that I would be happy to return another time.

The only negative was something that the hosts could do nothing about. On both Friday and Saturday evening until well after 1 a.m., there was a fair amount of raucous noise coming from people in the street - or perhaps from the pub's garden just across the bridge. So it might not be an ideal weekend stopover for people looking for a peaceful night's sleep. It didn't bother me much.

Very well looked after, I'm gluten and dairy free and am unable to eat onions but Richard and Ling catered for me. Exceptional service. Friendly hosts would highly recommend.

Parking can be difficult but caused no problem.
