This condo is very close to the slopes, but I would not call it ski in/ski out. It should be labeled hike in/hike out. The path to the mountain involves many very steep stairs. It also says that it sleeps, 8 but I would not but 8 people in this condo, it's much too small. All that being said for a few days it works.

We had a great stay and the unit had everything that we needed. We love the large island in the kitchen and we spent a lot of time hanging around the island chatting. The beds were comfortable and unit was clean. I would call this unit slope side and not ski in / ski out. To reach the slopes, you will need to walk down a flight of stairs.

Low expectations for skiing based on warm temps and nighttime rain but the base was good and 50-60 degree skiing is awesome. Place was perfect. We loved it. Spacious, great amenities, and easy walk to slopes. Only thing to note is y’all have a stink bug issue that was annoying. I’d get your exterminator in there.

The stairs going down to the slopes can be pretty scary because they are also iced over and pretty much covered in snow. The place was clean for the most part but they can do a better job at it (clean under the beds and the couch cushions) we had two 4 yr olds so yes we saw every piece of this place. Some of the towels were dirty but I sent a messaged and had new towels the following morning.

Home was very clean and view was nice. Enjoyed back patio. Smaller than pictures depicted. Kids loved loft bedroom. Downstairs bathroom shower door doesn’t seem very stable. Water dispenser randomly shoots out water when you close freezer door. Wedged paper towel in there to keep from constantly cleaning up the spill. Property was close to lots of attractions a d family fun.

Yes there are many steps to get to the slopes as other reviews mention. We would stop at the bottom and one of us would walk up to get our regular boots. That made it much easier to walk back up with all the equipment. Two items that need addressing are the master bath is slow to drain. The first night was ok but it progressively backed up and water pooled. The upstairs bath didn’t do that. We couldn’t get the gas logs on but we also never called so was probably a simple fix. The key pad did glitch on us the last day but Vacasa was very easy to get on the phone and fixed it immediately. We were impressed with how easy they were to work with. Kudos to Vacasa. Overall very clean place and super easy location right on Easy Street! We will likely be staying here again!

Great place and location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were a family of 4 and it was the perfect size for us. The kitchen was fully equipped. Very clean. The fire was a great touch! The unit looks out at the bottom of the slope and we walked down to ski school easily in the mornings. Highly recommend.

Not clean and we couldn’t check-in!
When we checked into the unit at 4:15, it had not been cleaned. The beds were unmade, kitchen was dirty and floors were not swept. It also smelled of grease. We immediately called the customer service number and they assured us the unit would be cleaned promptly. This was not the check in I was hoping for after seven hours in the car with 3 kids and a senior citizen. We left the property to get rent skis and waited to hear from housekeeping. After 30 minutes, we still had not heard from housekeeping so we called Vacasa again. They finally got someone over to clean the unit. It was 6 pm before we could get into the unit. After all of that, housekeeping did not change the sheets on one bed and did not unload the dishwasher. The comforter/quilts were not cleaned. (I know this because they were same ones still on the bed from the first time we walked into the unit at 4:15.) We called again and at 7:30pm someone brought a clean comforter. He said normally they do wash the comforters at their commercial laundry but didn’t have time today. This is disgusting and unacceptable. I went and bought Lysol and Clorox to sanitize things myself. (Yes, I actually found Lysol!) Vacasa boasts of extra Covid cleaning protocols and we got nothing of the sort. My disappointment primarily lies with Vacasa and their cleaning, not the actual unit. Also, most of the Sugar Mountain homes used to be managed by a company called Derekas. (We have stayed at 5 different units.) They ALL have the same old, worn out linens (towels, pillows, comforters) stamped with “Dereka’s” and I swear they are as old as the Sugar Mountain Resort (1969!) Vacasa really should replace all of them. They are terrible. If you can, bring your own pillows, blankets, towels etc. I recommend it. As the evening progressed, we unloaded groceries into the pantry only to have the shelf collapse and all our food end up in the floor. Later, we discovered the water and ice dispenser on the fridge do not turn off properly. We ended up with water and ice all over the floor. We had to manually operate the water and ice dispenser on the fridge. (Both of these mishaps are simply annoying but livable. Maintenance never showed up to fix them.) The unit itself is par for the course at Sugar Mountain. The kitchen is updated but disheveled and unorganized. The TVs and fireplace were easy to use. It’s one of the few true “walk to the slopes” options at Sugar Mountain. However, beware because it is not a leisurely walk, it is a climb and a brutal one while carrying skies. I feel bad for the owners because their management company is aloof and inept. I was hoping that a change from Derekas to Vacasa would be good for these Sugar Mountain owners but I fear things are even worse!

Great get away
This was a nice home in a great location. It was just the right size for two families of 4 (small kids). The kids loved the “kids room” with bunk and trundle beds. I would worry about bigger people sleeping in the bunk bed as it was not the sturdiest bed I’ve ever come across. The fridge and microwave may need a tune up as the ice dispenser would come on by itself and microwave sounded like it was on its last leg. Otherwise it was great for a weekend trip!

There were a ton of bad reviews for the rental agency which definitely gave me pause and they never responded to my email until a day after check in; however, they were really good when we had an issue with a barking dog in another condo (directly below and he went on and on). I called to complain and the girl explained that she needed to figure out if it was one of their properties or another rental company and then go from there about reaching the dog owner, and that someone would return my call. Well within 10 minutes a manager called back and let me know the right people were contacted and another ten minutes after that, the dog stopped. It was much appreciated and they really stepped up for us, which was much appreciated.
All in all, it was a great trip with a cute condo.

The place has a great location , is well appointed and nicely decorated. However, the management company has done such a poor job with it that I would not recommend anyone rent any place managed by Vacasa. It was dirty - including hair in the tubs, urine on the floor and on the toilet, dried spills on the counters and crumbs left in the kitchen. On top of all that, when we arrived the place had been improperly locked up and we could not access the unit. We had a late arrival with four tired children and two weary parents from the long drive and we were sorely disappointed to not be able to get inside. After a very long wait to speak to someone at midnight (there should be a faster route to customer service for renters on-sure) and exhausted, we finally got inside, only to find the place not cleaned. We then had to spend more than an hour cleaning the place before we could finally unload. On top of that, only two of the beds in the kids’ bunk room were actually made. We had to get the sheets and blankets and make the other two ourselves. Additionally, those beds don’t have proper mattresses. They have just styrofoam mattress toppers in place of an actual mattress and they just fall through the slats below. The bath towels are also worn and tiny. They don’t even wrap around an adult. Other than those two things, the place is nice. The owners should find a new property manager!! Vacasa is terrible. Don’t rent this place until they find a new property manager unless you want to deal with hassles on your vacation!
