About this cottage rental

Get away from the hectic affairs of daily life and relax on the bucolic west side of Lake Norman. The house has 198 feet of waterfront. Located mid-way up Lake Norman, the house is far enough away from Charlotte to be outside of suburbia, but close enough to civilization for convenient access to restaurants and shopping. The house has a good view across a very wide cove that is perfect for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking or paddle boarding. You have a choice of swimming from a protected beach or swimming off the dock in deep water. We have a canoe, kayaks, and paddle board that are available for use by the renters free of charge. We also have various indoor and outdoor games available for use, including various board games, Bocce, horseshoes, and Croquet. There are fishing rods if you want to try your luck at catching dinner. The house was completely renovated in 2015-2016 and a new screen porch was added in February 2018. There is a queen-sized (firm) bed in one bedroom and two (medium firmness) twin beds in the second bedroom. A side room has an additional twin bed (medium firmness). We do not recommend the house for groups with more than 5 people. A washer and dryer are available for use in the utility room. If it gets cold, there is a wood-stove in additional to a heat pump system. Outside, there is a large dock with deep water and room for multiple boats. If you have a boat, it is most convenient to put the boat in at either the Lake Norman Hotel landing, the McCrary Creek access area, the Hager Creek access area or the Burton Creek access area. The house is not large or fancy, but it is clean and comfortable. Although there is a great view from most of the rooms in the house, you will want to spend most of your time on the dock, on the screen porch or in the water. Early in the morning, as the mist is lifting from the lake, is great time to sit in the porch swing on the dock or one of the rockers and enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee. It is not uncommon to see deer, herons, turtles, muskrats, ducks, and geese. There is also a friendly catfish that will stick its nose out of the water and beg to be fed. COVID 19 - To minimize the risk of exposure to our guests from the COVID 19 virus, the house will be thoroughly cleaned following CDC guidelines prior to your arrival, with particular emphasis on surfaces where viruses can live the longest. As you can see from the reviews of properties that we own, we pride ourselves of maintaining a very clean house. We ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you or anybody you have invited to the house is infected with COVID 19, or is exposed to a person known to be infected with COVID 19 within 15 days prior to your arrival or becomes infected with COVID 19 during your stay or within two weeks after your departure. Because the house is frequently vacant, there are two outdoor security cameras that point away from the house. One camera is between the garage doors pointed toward the road and one camera is on the northeast corner of the screen porch pointed toward the driveway.

The property is set in a quiet cove and has beautiful views of the lake. We especially enjoyed the screened porch. The house was very clean and nicely supplied with almost everything we needed. There is a great grocery store a short drive away. Our stay exceeded all of our expectations.

I fell in love with this house as soon as I pulled in the driveway. I text the owner to let him know I arrived, he responded right away, and everything was perfect. This was the best vacation property I’ve ever stayed at.

Our family of 4 adults stayed at this lovely property. Everything is as it is in the photos. Best stocked kitchen supplies I’ve had yet. Lots of space for all. The yard down to the lake is beautiful. Such a peaceful place! We kayaked, floated, and enjoyed it all. So close to the grocery store and places to eat. Mountain Creek Park is 8 minutes away. (Great pickleball courts) we will come to Lake Norman again! Thanks to Rick for being a great host!

The house is amazing. A lake house like in the stories / in the movies. It’s private, large enough for our family of four, has anything you’d need. Don’t bother discover the neighborhood or things to do: just be in and around the water and calm yourself down at this perfect getaway!!

This was the perfect location for our family. We were looking for a place to spend a few days at the Lake where we could relax and enjoy lake life. This house was great. Location was wonderful. Close to shopping and restaurants. We loved being right on the lake and having the paddle board and kayaks. Perfect spot in the cove where there was not a lot of boat traffic. Thank you Rick for accommodating or schedule changes!

This lake house is clean, comfortable, well-equipped. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is a not comfortable queen bed ( should be a king) and a gas grill in bad condition. The house is very nice, comfortably air conditioned even in very hot weather, has all kitchen and laundry appliances, complete kitchen ware. There's a great dock with kayaks and paddle board. The screen porch is a wonderful space at any time of day. Rick is a very helpful, informative and responsive host.
