Lovely accommodation, Ideally situated in the heart of the upper town area right by the castle.
Really enjoyed my 4 night stay for the BH weekend, was perfect for the festival event held in the castle grounds and all around up to the Cathedral, as I could easily keep nipping back and forth to drop stuff off or do outfit changes.
Upper Lincoln is such a beautiful old town steeped in history with the most magnificent buildings. I come every year to this event and is very hard to get a place to stay in the old town, so this is ideal.
This cottage is set over 3 floors, a little dodgy on the stairs, be careful if walking up with a tray, (or in platform boots like me lol!)
Kitchen on ground floor with everything you need, including a second bathroom (except the one thing missing for me mentioned below)
Living room on first floor with views of castle to the back and Cathedral to the front. And a little seated patio area.
Huge bedroom on 3rd floor with on-suit. And lots of storage and surface space, and view of the castle.
Good service and a big thank you to Susan for letting me keep the parking permit that bit extra, meaning no stress on having to move my car for the remains of the event after check out. 😊
Slight issue with living room TV on arrival on the Thursday, could not get a picture at all. It was just a shame to have not been able to make the most of the whole accommodation facilities. On the one night I had free to relax in and watch TV with my dinner, it would have been lovely to do so in the living room overlooking the beautiful castle views, rather than have to sit on the bed with a tray as I would normally do in a hotel. However, Susan did her upmost to try and solve this for me and I managed to resolve it by Saturday eve. I think we both got a little frustrated with this but Susan did all she could to make my stay a pleasant one. 😊
So the only thing missing for me was a freezer compartment for my ice cream!

The cottage is brilliantly located, close to both Castle and Cathedral. Whilst this means a little street noise on Sat/Fri nights in the summer, we did not find it intrusive. The house is old but nicely done. All the equipment you would need together with tea, coffee, biscuits, toiletries etc. The host was swift and helpful with comms.
Stairs are fairly steep with modest treads. Fine for us, but older folk or small children may find harder to navigate safely. We loved the vibe of the house. Very relaxing.

2nd time staying here, was for my partners 60th. Fabulous little cottage in uphill Lincoln, right near the cathedral, castle and steep hill. The cottage itself is very quaint, unique and covered our needs for our stay. The bed is very comfy, the stairs are steep but we knew this before coming. Everything you need home from home. Communication with Susan the owner was great. The balcony is a bonus especially with it being so warm this last week, it's very comfortable and we love staying here.
