Borgo Vescine

In mid- September my husband and I spent an idyllic four days at Borgo Vescine. It was half way through a five week trip to Italy and by that point we'd been on the go and needed time to relax and regroup. From the moment we pulled into the drive we knew we'd found the right spot. Visually stunning, Borgo Vescine captivated us. It immediately exudes charm, and exceeded all of our expectations about how a Tuscan retreat would be. Once the initial impact had settled we were welcomed by the staff like family and the halo did not leave us. Whether it was enjoying our beautifully appointed room or enjoying the Tuscan sun by the pool overlooking the iconic hills, the ambiance was exceptional. Of course the food and service were highlights, this is Italy after all. Dining on the terrace each morning enjoying a delicious local breakfast, in the bistro in the evening under the fairy lights or our final night at the communal table in the olive grove where we savoured every mouthful of a sumptuous banquet. To General Manager Stefano and all of the staff, we salute you one and all. Stefano, you are the consummate host and set a standard of service so high it cannot be exceeded. Our memories of Borgo Vescine will remain for a lifetime. To anyone looking for the perfect spot in Tuscany a short drive from Florence and within an easy drive of some of the most iconic towns, look no further than Borgo Vescine.

There is nothing we did not like. Borgo Vescine is perfect.

Stunning property, brilliant staff, lovely activities on site! Special mention to the brilliant truffle hunting experience with amazing 3 course meal afterwards and also the beautiful Olive Grove dinner!

To make the property a 10 for me I’d love to see a spa area on site, and a shuttle offered for guests to visit local villages as without a car this is sadly not possible.

The most stunning location and brilliant staff who looked after us so well with a particular shout out to Salvatore and Lorenzo, they all worked incredibly hard. We did both the Cena in Piazza and Dinner in the Olive Groves experiences and they were fantastic and a great way to meet the other guests in a beautiful setting with delicious food, evenings we will never forget. The meals we had at the hotel were outstanding.

The only thing that we felt it lacked was some sort of transportation into the local towns, such as a shuttle for hotel guests, we felt this would be hugely beneficial. We also felt the price of alcoholic drinks were expensive, a bottle of Peroni was €10 which we felt was steep and given you are in the countryside with no shops near you and we did not have a car, you end up paying those prices.

Amazing place - the food the outstanding service - the scenery what more can I say. Treated like royalty
