The hotel is positioned literally on a sandy, gently shelving beach, set in a lovely lawned garden of ancient cypress trees and date palms with a lovely pool. (Note: many hotels along the Athens Riviera are separated from their beaches by a road). Some great tavernas, mini markets and a few beach bars, frequented mainly by locals and Athenians are all within easy walking distance if you wish to eat locally and well. The hotel staff were all very helpful and courteous. Our Plaza Resort rooms were spacious, very comfortable and scrupulously clean - if slightly dated. We appreciated the coffee machine, water in the minibar fridge plus fresh fruit plate and a complimentery bottle of wine to welcome guests. Comfy beds, good bed linen, effective aircon, bathrobes/slippers and effective black-out curtains. We had rooms 345 and 343 which can be adjoining, configured as double/twin and have sizeable balconies with lovely sea views.
Small things that you may take for granted these days are missing: eg. no in-room hair dryer, you need to call reception for access to an iron/ironing board. Older shower over bath, with shower curtain and the shower head loose in its moorings so the shower head swings about (water pressure is excellent!). Clothes hook on the door hanging off. Smart TV not connected to the internet so no Netflix, etc. The in-house technician came to inspect the TV and advised that the internet was not available for the TV - implying this was as expected. Meanwhile, in the next room, Internet and Netflix was working perfectly on their Smart TV.
