Nestled in Woodstock, this charming house for $410 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Brookside Retreat is ideally located on a quiet side street overlooking Tannery Brook, a year-round stream that flows through the center of Woodstock and right past the house! This historic artist’s bungalow features an extensive bluestone patio (with a built-in outdoor wood-burning fireplace and stone table with benches), a covered deck, and walkways that overlook the stream ~ as well as a spacious landscaped and fenced-in lawn. Three bedrooms accommodate up to 6 people (see details below). In addition, there's a fully-equipped country kitchen; a dining area (seats 6); and a spacious living room with a cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan, skylights, 2-story north light windows, a gas-fueled fireplace with an exposed stone chimney ~ and a piano! In addition, there's a separate studio-office building with a desk, lounge area, and wall of sliding glass doors that overlook the patio. Brookside Retreat is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or personal retreat! BEDROOMS There are 3 bedrooms, all with AC: 1) a first-floor master bedroom with a king-size bed, sliding glass doors that open onto a private deck, and an en suite bathroom with a shower; 2) a second-floor bedroom with a queen-size bed, cathedral ceiling, oversized windows, and a shared bathroom with a tub/shower; 3) a second-floor children's bedroom with a crib, changing table, toddler/twin bed, fold-out full-size futon couch, and blackout shades. PETS Well-behaved and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask. Please note that a $100/week pet fee per dog applies. Great country house, well situated near town, with stream in the rear. Would definitely stay here agin.

This is a cozy house, not a fancy house. Very comfortable for a family. Stairs are a bit steep for little kids with kids beds upstairs.

Cozy home close to everything. The babbling brook soothes the soul. Placement of bedrooms and baths provided both convenience and privacy for each of us. The kitchen provided all utensils and equipment we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. Excellent service from property manager. Highly recommend! Thought we didn't have infants/toddlers with us, we noticed that this property would accommodate them well.

Brookside Retreat was everything we could have wished for in a vacation home. The house is even bigger than the photos show, the property is beautiful, and being right next to a stream surrounded by trees while only a few blocks from stores made it just perfect. The house is wonderfully equipped and the property manager was immediately accessible when a question came up. We definitely plan on coming back.

We absolutely loved the property and our stay. The home is comfortable and well-appointed. We loved the gas fireplace, large kitchen and the patio overlooking the stream. The house is convenient to everything and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Communication was A+++ throughout our stay and we could not have been happier. This is a true gem!!

This cottage in Woodstock was perfect for our group. The master bedroom is spacious, as is the kitchen and living room area, and it the heat worked unbelievably well considering the very cold temperatures over the weekend we were there. The outdoor and indoor fireplaces both added to the experience. The property manager was also extremely communicative, which was helpful leading up to our stay. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!

The Brookside is the perfect Woodstock retreat. The indoor and outdoor spaces are perfect for anything from meditation to dancing. Loved the convenience of walking the town and returning to a complete kitchen and outdoor dining.

The best location!
We have stayed in the Woodstock area several times, and this was absolutely one of our favorites. The house has so much character, and is tucked away in beautiful nature, but still very accessible to all of the fun and deliciousness that Woodstock has to offer with just a short walk to shops and restaurants. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. We had our 1 year old with us - it's a great location for young ones too! We would love to come back soon.

Also the property itself it so relaxing being on the river with the soothing water sounds. Such a treat! Highly recommend for families with children or dogs, couples, people working remote, etc. Our stay was such a nice getaway and we hope to return again one day!

This house is located in a prime area of Woodstock and had the perfect balance of convenience of shops/restaurants so close by and serene and peaceful setting with the sound of the brook. It was a great home base for hiking and visiting other areas like Saugerties and Kingston.

One night during a big snow storm the power went out (came back on a few hours later), and to compensate us for the inconvenience the owner actually gave us a gift certificate for dinner, which was incredibly thoughtful. Also, we have two kids ages 2 and 1 and the home was surprisingly well equipped for young kids - there was a crib, a changing table, an extra travel crib, and even a box full of toys! Unfortunately the indoor gas fireplace was not working during our visit (this was fully disclosed to us prior to our arrival) so that was a bit of a bummer, but the house was warm & cozy nonetheless. The only complaint/suggestion we have for the owners would be that the home could be better stocked with things like paper towels and bath linens. Overall though, it was a wonderful five star trip and we would definitely consider renting this home in the future.

Safe and Relaxing Week
Thank you for the much needed relaxing New Year’s Eve week! We loved the open layout and cleanliness of house and the nearby town which is minutes walking distance. Cooking in the spacious kitchen right next to the creek was great. The relaxing sound of the creek was a plus. The house manager Judy was responsive and attentive.

Perfect Woodstock home
Home was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Property manager was extremely responsive throughout the process. We stayed/worked for 3 weeks and were not lacking a thing. Wifi was strong for multiple concurrent streaming events and work applications. We enjoyed the bonus of 2 fireplaces (indoor + out) as well as frequent visits to shops/restaurants in town. Easy drive to many wonderful day hikes. Hope to return. Fall in Woodstock is magical and this home is the perfect place to experience it.

Fabulous Retreat
We had the joy of staying at this lovely Woodstock property in September, 2020 as a get-a-way from the city (we worked and schooled from a home away from home). The location is amazing - and the creek in the backyard is gorgeous. It also was chilly while we were there and the family fully enjoyed the outside firepit and seating area as well as the gas fireplace inside. There were games and puzzles available which entertained the whole family. Jill was easy to communicate with and really made the whole experience a breeze.
A couple minor things to be aware of: this is an older house in the mountains (originally a working artist studio) and so expect the occasion bug or spider. Also, I may recommend that they use a less scented detergent for the sheets and towels, the downy was a little overwhelming for my scent sensitive kiddo. All in all though, this was a heavenly and much needed and restful escape. Thanks again, we'll be back!
