I could see the Shevchenko monument in the main square from my room! The staff are absolutely amazing!

Basically right downtown
It didn’t affect me but the hostel is on the 4th floor so if you have any luggage be prepared to walk

Friendly staff, clean beds and facilities
The bed above me was squeaky, if someone up the bed moved it would make a lot of noise.

Above all: The location is super!
This magnificent old building is partly in serious disrepair, and the communal stairwell is a disgrace! The hostel is in reasonable condition,, but the murderous stairs kills it all! 30 steps for each floor, so f you get a room on the top floor, you have to make 90 of them each time you return! My score for the staff is medium, because in spite of some nice and helpful young girl in the reception, her kindness in cancelled out by others, who seemed cold and unfriendly.
