I have always loved The Lensbury and have stayed there frequently over the years. It is a lovely property in a fantastic location, with excellent leisure facilities and beautiful grounds. The main building has a great deal of character, and the overall setting is one of the reasons I keep returning.
On this occasion, I stayed in Ascot House, a more modern addition situated away from the main building. While I continue to enjoy The Lensbury and everything it has to offer, I felt that certain aspects of this particular stay fell short of the standard I have come to expect from previous visits.
The rooms in Ascot House are rather dated, with poorly fitted shower doors. They also overlook the outdoor basketball and football pitch, which is enclosed by fencing that balls constantly bounce against, creating considerable noise. Anyone hoping for a morning lie-in is likely to be disappointed.
