Matinloc Island Resort

It was a truly wonderful experience. The beauty of the view from the room and the scenery of the private beach speak for themselves. I believe that once you see the photos, you will understand that it is well worth the cost. To be honest, the photos posted on the website do not do justice to the property—the image quality is not very high, and they fail to fully convey how impressive the place actually is. For reference, we stayed in the Signature Suite. The dining experience was also exceptional. During our four-day, three-night stay, we enjoyed different breakfasts and dinners every day, all of which were delicious and highly satisfying. In particular, the lobster dinner we had while watching the sunset from a balcony seat by the beach is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. The staff were always well staffed and consistently attentive; no matter whom we asked, we received kind and excellent service. For the sake of completeness, I should also note that we experienced no health issues at all during our stay—there were no problems such as illness or food poisoning.

If the waves are high, the boat ride can be pretty bumpy. Also, because it’s an isolated island, there’s no supermarket—so make sure to buy some beer ahead of time and bring it with you.

Location is isolated. Place is clean. Room is clean. Bed and pillows are comfy. Nice water pressure. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Pricey. Breakfast is included but what’s in the menu is pricey. Day trips are pricey as well.

It was far away from the hustle and hustle of El Nido.

Not much activity other than the pool, the beach. The boat ride thru rough waters was very disconcerting. The boat landing was extremely difficult to get off and get on. My wife got food poisoning from bad Pizza on our last day. I had to take her to the ER in Manila.
