Royal Oak Hotel

A warm welcome and great location. The room (called Cook) was spacious and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and usb outlets in the sockets which was convenient. The bed was very comfortable and the room toasty warm. Excellent breakfast and we can recommend the evening meals in the pub, do book a table as it’s very popular. Plentiful free parking available directly outside or across the road. Shower was great with quality towels supplied. We stayed with our dog who thoroughly enjoyed his stay and the attention! We were able to access outside out-of-hours.

I can imagine the separate bathroom could get pretty chilly in winter, despite the efforts of the heated towel rail in there. The room was above the kitchen, so during service there is some noise but this soon ceases when the kitchen is closed.

Great location, great food & beer, & friendly helpful staff. A very pleasant stay as always.
