Beautiful view from the window — you can see a 12th-century church, lovely to watch in the changing light. The garden is big with stunning hydrangeas, and the rural location with roosters in the morning is very fun if you’re coming from the city. The apartment is spacious, which suited us as our child is older, though the bedrooms separated by long corridor may be less convenient for very small children. The owners are friendly, quiet, and live next door with a big but friendly dog, which is great if you like dogs. Overall, very peaceful and boho vibe.
While the owners are very nice, their limited English led to some misunderstandings. For example, I was surprised that we were expected to clean the apartment ourselves, otherwise the cost would be deducted from the cash deposit we paid. It would have been helpful to know this upfront, I didn't like the hassle.
The kitchen and bathroom work fine but are a bit dated, which was expected so I don't have a problem with this. What I didn’t expect was the strong damp smell — our clothes ended up smelling musty. It was unpleasant, but it wasn’t a huge problem since we were mostly hiking or going to the beach, but it's not for sensitive people with health problems, towels also didn’t dry well in the apartment.
