The location was very quiet and there were some restaurants in walking distance. The driveway to get into the property is very steep, so be ready for that. You will need a car to get around from here. Kitchen is well stocked and hosts left us some treats which was nice. Do a grocery shop before arriving.
There was a lot of driving to get to different places on the island, but it wasn't horrible. We kept the windows open at night for fresh air and that meant we had a few mosquitoes buzzing around our ears while sleeping. Other than that it was great!

Very comfortable house with good facilities, super comfortable bed and really helpful and friendly host who was unobtrusive but always available with help or advice if needed. The pool was lovely and the garden full of exotic plants and flowers. We were inspired by the provision of exercise mats to do a morning yoga session in the garden overlooking the bay - wonderful. There is a fabulous restaurant just up the hill , a very short walk from the property where we enjoyed the best meal.we had during our 10 days in Madeira.
