A warm welcoming experience by amazing staff

We especially enjoyed the company of Onsen master who amused us while serving dinner and introducing us to Japanese culinary culture. Dinners were a wonderful experience as well as the private and public Onsen.

We booked a room for 3 adults and it is a bit crowded for such a number of people with the tatami mats all together and little room left around to move. It would be more comfortable for one or 2 people. If you travel in group plan renting out more rooms if they are available.

Unassuming Luxury near the Hells of Beppu

I'll admit when we pulled up I was wondering if we were in the right place. But once you stepped inside you were in a magical wonderland of luxury. I can't rave enough about the food. We had breakfast and dinner and both were Michelin-star quality. The staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. We had the room with the private onsen but we were hard pressed to have time to enjoy it as we were too busy enjoying the other two wonderful onsen that are on the property (we eventually enjoyed it on our last morning). The tea and free drinks were a bonus. The location was great; we took a taxi to the Hells of Beppu but were able to walk all the way back (downhill). I can't recommend this ryokan enough.

Honestly, nothing!

Before booking, I was a bit hesitant because of conflicting translations online regarding whether they welcome children.

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The staff provided exceptional, high-quality service and were incredibly professional. We opted for the "half-board" (one night, two meals) package, and the food was absolutely delicious! The onsen was very relaxing, and our room was spotless, well-organized, and extremely comfortable.
