Eden Estate; not for us. The VRBO listing does not mention the name of this hotel anywhere. A google search of this property triggers some extremely negative reviews, and some reviewers speculate it's a deliberate attempt by management to avoid exposure to those reviews. However, some guests actually liked this property - hence the title of this review. Upon arrival we (fortunately) were shifted to a junior suite for the first few days of our stay. The eclectic room was okay, except there was no internet reception (tip: avoid lower level rooms for this reason). Once our "suite" became available we were shocked by its size and condition. The "suite with amazing tub" turned out to be a tiny shabby little room, barely large enough to contain the bed and a dresser. No place to sit (no chairs), worn-out grubby looking floors (see my pics), and exposure to the outside through open space in the bathroom area (the musquito netting is not merely decoration). The artfully taken photographs on the VRBO listing were clearly taken when the property was new (decades ago?). However, there was internet reception in this tiny room. The listing mentions the availabilty of free mineral water and tea all day. None of the staff at the restaurant/pavillion was aware of this and the large jug of water on site had a note attached to it stating it was not for guests ("public") but a private party. No tea either. The listing suggests breakfast is included ("tub, AC, great breakfast, wi-fi."). When I queried the desk clerk about this she told me it was "a mistake." No big deal, the cost was mininal, but blaming Homeaway was lame. The property is in the middle of nowhere; there are no restaurants nearby and one either eats at the little make-shift restaurant on site or takes the (complimentary) shuttle into town (not 5 minutes but almost 20 minutes from the hotel). Bottom line: If you're taking yoga or meditation at this property (which, I assume, the hotel does well) and you don't care about: reliable internet; distance to town or convenient access to restaurants; or, in the case of this "suite," a place to sit (other than the bed), this place may just work for you. It must be said, the staff was friendly and cooperative and the property eclectic, in an early 1970s way. But one night in the smallest hotel room I've ever seen was enough for us; we checked out the following day, forfeiting three nights' of pre-paid hotel charges. No follow-up or even a response from the...
