Very disappointing. Bedsheets and room not properly cleaned.

We are retired couple, seasoned travellers. This place is a 3 dressed up as a 9. A newish house in the country, but you will be sharing the house with a large family with kids, which could be uncomfortable. Note that check in time is 7 PM, since I believe the host works. We thought there would be a dining area where we could reheat our dinner in the microwave. Host had removed it, claimed that guests were abusing it, etc.etc. Well, there is no sink for clean up, no window or exhaust fan so... The host did kindly reheat our food for us, which was appreciated. As others have said, room was not clean. Almost certainly, the sheets were not washed prior to our arrival, had a used, musty smell. As a result, my partner refused to spend the 2nd night there. As well, mattress was well used and soft - we have had better sleeps in cheap hostels. Stained curtains, throws over the loveseat hid some stains. It seems as though she rents out her son’s bedroom; it was piled up with personal belongings in the closet, only covered with a bedsheet. Very weird vibe all around. Very uncomfortable overall, you are sharing the house with a big, young family. The house can be noisy, a boy was mowing the lawn past 10pm. Breakfast nook is really just a side table and cramped table for three. If you like white Wonderbread, Cornflakes and Rice Krispies for breakfast you'll love this place. As others have said, if you bring up any small complaint, she takes it personally and threatens to report your licence number to the Garda (police)?? Much better places around.

Great location. Large room. Cereal and toast included for breakfast. Comfy bed. Friendly host.

No kettle in room. The landing was good for the fridge and toaster but not for sitting and eating. The curtains were nice but the blind over the bed didn't work and was disgusting. Bed sheets were only suitable as drop sheets. Shower needed a thorough clean. Floor needed sweeping.
