Located in Monchique, this lovely villa for $85 per night is a great choice for your next break. Superb country house with lots of charm and character, located in a unique, secluded and peaceful location, with magnificent views, of the ocean and the mountains, a short distance from the town center. She is composed: A living room, a wood stove, a large kitchen, 1 double bedroom (air-conditioned bedroom) with 1 adjoining bathroom and 1 toilet. This villa and its swimming pool are nestled in a wooded park where all the essences of trees and shrubs of the ALGARVE flourish. In his garden rub shoulders with rare roses, agaves and fruit trees. At 460 m above sea level, the town of Monchique offers the spectacle of the sea, the freshness of crystal-clear rivers running down the rocks, orchards and market garden crops on the terrace.

Despite our late arrival (after midnight), we were welcomed by the property manager Eulália, who met us at the local supermarket and shown us the way to the villa and gave us a thorough guide to the property. The villa itself was lovely with everything you need for your stay. The surrounding garden was beautiful with stunning views of the valley below and neighbouring hillsides. I can imagine the private pool being an absolute godsend in the summer months, but could have been a little warmer for our autumn visit (I myself swam in it most days - took a couple of minutes to get used to the cool water - very refreshing all the same). The log burner was great to have for the evening time and there's an unlimited amount of wood available, supplied by the owner. to the location and the terrain, hiring a car an absolute necessity when staying at this villa. Monchique is a five minute journey and the nearby towns + the south and west coastlines are relatively closeby, no longer than an hour's drive. We even drove to and from Lisbon for a day trip, but I'd recommend using the A22 and A2 toll roads rather than the road from Monchique leading in a north easterly direction (very winding- so not good for travel sickness). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying in this villa.

This is the best place to stay in Portugal. The home has everything you need with a wonderful view of the valley and the sea. The host is most accommodating and helpful. We truly intend to return.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and the villa's size, equipment and location surpassed any expectations. Our meeting up with the Villa manager was simple and Eulalia was always happy to help. Only mistake was not booking the wonderful villa for longer !

This is a quirky house with lots of personality.
Beautifully decorated, cozy and comfortable. The bright sunny kitchen is well out-fitted with all the conveniences of home. Direct access to the patio dining area was a bonus! Livingroom, dining room, kitchen and bathroom are all quite large. The bedroom is small but more than adequate.
Outdoors, the gardens, pool, sitting areas (many), and the surrounding property are sublime. It is the perfect place to relax. We really enjoyed picking fruit right from the tree. Fresh oranges for breakfast are a real treat!
The property is situated in a perfect location. Easy walking distance to Monchique (1km)
Several nice walking trails right from the property.
Fabulous views with not a neighbor in sight.
Several good restaurants located within a 5-10min walk.
We'd like to thank, both the property manager and the owner for making our stay PERFECT! I really hope that we can come back for another visit sometime soon!

We needed a quiet recharging holiday and it was fantastic! Pascal was very responsive, the host was very attentive and the property was exceptional. Very snug in winter and we enjoyed lots of fires and cooking together. We will definitely be back! Thank you

We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the hill whilst having breakfast on the quiet terrace. The pool is big for the property and has great views. The area offers a variety of activities. We did a 10km walk to the highest point in the Algarve, combining 2 walks, one of which leaves right beside the property. You can visit Monchique itself, but also its surrounding towns and the coast is not far should you wish to visit. There are plenty of opportunities to eat out close by, and we also visited the Portimao Municipal Market, where you can choose from a plethora of fish, veg, fruit and charcuterie/cheese.

We had a lovely stay at this traditional Portuguese cottage and everything was catered for. The swimming pool area was very quiet and relaxing with no sound of cars or screaming humans!
South and west coats of Portugal are all within 1 hours drive from the cottage and having the intermache down the road was ideal.
The only downside was that a welcome pack would have been a perfect welcome for when we arrived at 11.30pm.
We have realised that we prefer a location with a bit more things to do but we welcomed the rest after what’s been a busy 2 years.

Te hoge prijs
Het voordeel: groot zwembad en mooie tuin.
Nadelen: na gebruik van het toilet kwam er een rioolgeur vrij in de badkamer en voor het zwembad.
Geen internet bij het zwembad.
Parasols geen 4 stuks maar 2 en gaan steeds stuks.
Gekkopoep in keuken vanwege gat in het keukendak. De keuken had alleen koud water. Scheef neergezet fornuis dus zelfs een ei bakken was lastig.
Om 4 á 5 uur wakker i.v.m. rollende steentjes schuinboven de slaapkamer. Bed is voor kleine mensen: 1,40 cm bij 1,90 cm.
Het zwembad was super. De waterpomp en scimmers werkten niet vanwege te lage waterstand in het zwembad.
De tuin is prachtig.

A Wonderful Experience
The property is in a stunning part of the Algarve, high up in the mountains. It was probably the most well equipped villa we have ever stayed in and we could not have asked for anything further. Being high up we experienced cloud cover for the first few days but found the sun on trips to the coast. What we did not realise was that we could have asked for the pool to be heated and this would have made a difference as it would have had more use. The small touches were appreciated. There were roses on the kitchen table and lemons in the fruit bowl on arrival. As we arrived late "welcome pack" would have been useful with a small additional charge. The property manager was lovely and could not have been more helpful. Overall a really good break in a quiet and lovely area.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und herzlich empfangen. Alles verlief reibungslos und sehr unkompliziert. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was es für einen tollen Urlaub braucht, vor allem der Küche fehlt es an nichts. Ein sehr gemütliches und uriges Haus. Auf dem Grundstück wachsen Pampelmusen Bäume, welche wir nach der Erfrischung im Pool genossen haben. Eine wunderbare Flora und Fauna herrscht in der Umgebung. Olivenbäumen säumen den Weg zum Grundstück. Wir sind sehr ungern gefahren und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Accueil parfait de la régisseuse « Eulalia » qui nous fait découvrir la propriété. La villa est propre et très agréable avec une belle piscine privée sans vis à vis, un emplacement idéal à 2 minutes en voiture de Monchique, 25 minutes de la plage, un excellent restaurant en sortant de la propriété. Un vrai moment d’évasion dans un lieu d’exception si vous recherchez la tranquillité durant votre séjour. Je recommande cette villa +++ où vous avez toutes les commodités pour un séjour réussi.

Mountain beauty and relaxation
This house is nestled up and above Monchique, with expansive mountain views allowing for dramatic observations of the weather. The property is lusciously landscaped with fruit trees, flowers everywhere, delightful scents during the spring when we were there. The house itself is immaculately renovated, clean and very cozy. What a delight to cook in a traditional Portuguese kitchen and eat outside amidst the birds and views.

La maison a répondu à tous nos critères. Elle est propre, l'environnement est calme avec beaucoup de végétation et une belle vue, une très grande piscine (avec une toile pour garder l'eau chaude). La situation de la maison est centrale pour visiter l'Algarve (tout est à une heure et moins en voiture). Bref un magnifique séjour dans cette charmante maison typique du Portugal. Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage und haben Haus, Garten und Pool sehr genossen . Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet. Alles perfekt! Schade, dass es an den Fenstern keine Läden gibt, so dass man bei großer Hitze Abdunkeln könnte. Sonst gibt es alles, was man für einen schönen Urlaub braucht
