About this house rental
Situated in Casco, this attractive house for $347 per night is a great option for your next vacation. We purchased our dream property in May 2019 and have been hard at work making it perfect for our rentersj. We just started taking reservations on July 4th, 2019 and are excited to share our slice of heaven with you. Wake up to the call of the loons off the expansive back deck overlooking quaint Parker Pond. Updated, fido friendly, classic Maine Cottage just feet from the water's edge. Open dining/living room with a wall of windows overlooking the deck and water. Sit by the fire pit and roast marshmallows on warm summer nights or get cozy next to the indoor fireplace on cool nights. Kayak to the middle island or into Pleasant lake or launch your boat for water skiing or cruising around the lake. Front shallow beach area is perfect for families with little ones to keep an eye on. ***NEW*** After a small project became a much larger one, guests at The Fox Den will be met with a BRAND NEW updated kitchen with new refrigerator, microwave and we have added an oven, dishwasher and disposal. We have vaulted the ceilings in the kitchen giving an open feel and renovated the bathroom including a full-size shower. The bunk room has been transformed as well into a built-in loft sleeping space with queen daybed and twin trundle bed underneath. The cottage has received an exterior facelift as well with a new paint job that makes it the quintessential navy and white New England lake house. **Sorry - cats are not allowed as we have family members who are allergic**

This cottage is perfect for a relaxation getaway. So peaceful & serene.

House was comfortable and well stocked. We had a great time relaxing on the porch, kayaking, and going on a few local hikes. Would absolutely stay here again!
The acorns falling from the oak trees also make the best kerplunk sounds when they hit the water.

Even after a disagreement with owner I can’t find much bad to say about this beautiful cottage on a beautiful lake. Very clean and well thought out. Pretty much all brand new. Only drawbacks I could find would be the road noise can be a little loud at night when it’s very quiet outside and maybe better living room furniture as well as outdoor furniture this all being said if I could I would give 4 1/2 stars if I had the option. Even after our disagreement

The pictures just don't do it justice. Beautiful property and so, so peaceful. Loved the large deck.
My dog loved being able to be free during our travels.
We were in luck to see a full moon over the lake and ill never forget it. This city gal could get used to that life.
So spacious and clean. Lovingly taken care of and I'm so grateful to have found it.

Came back to stay at this lovely property with family for a second time. Great spot for all ages - this time we had adults of various ages, 4yo, 8mo, and a dog. The sandy beach and convenient dock make outside time so easy and so enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

My husband, two boys and our dog were looking for a few days to relax and spend quality time together at the lake. We definitely relaxed, swam, kayaked and the boys loved to rope swing! It was great to have the yard fenced in and not to have to worry about the dog. The cottage was clean, updated and we loved how it was so spacious open and had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed our time and would definitely love to go back for another stay.

We arrived to this lovely home late Friday and left early Monday for just a fun weekend getaway. It has all the bells and whistles and Eileen was very attentive to our needs and questions. Their home is absolutely lovely and right on the water which we enjoyed so so much! What a cute town too and we got to see the Christmas in July boat parade in Naples! Highly reccommend!

Guys, there's a rope swing here. And practically a sandy-bottom beach, a swimable dock, a kayak to use, comfy beds, a fun loft for the Littles, a gorgeous deck, a new kitchen and bathrooms... This place was a gem for us and it met all our needs and then some. The baby got his own room to sleep in (we provided the pack and play), the 5yo got to sleep in the fun new loft twin bed, and the parents got the king bed and en suite. The reno is great and beautifully done. Congrats! Our 2 labs thoroughly enjoyed having a lake at their whim and the fact that the whole backyard is fenced gave us such peace. Having an enclosed space made the constant in/out/in/out from the dogs and kids a breeze. The view was beautiful, the lake was stunning and quiet, and proximity to enough stores, markets, and seafood shacks was perfect. Yeah, seriously, we'd love to make this rental a yearly thing!

This was our third time staying at the Fox Den, I wouldn't have thought it could have been better than the last two times, but I was mistaken. The renovations they have done are amazing, the Kitchen and the bathroom have been completely made over and they added a beautiful master bedroom and master bath. Eileen is super helpful and checked in with me multiple times to make sure everything was going smoothly. Cannot wait to get back to the Fox Den!

Property itself was beautiful. Great location, beautiful large deck and lovely water view.
Amenities lacking-notably virtually empty dish soap and hand soap dispensers, there was no crock pot nor any microwave safe glassware to cook in, the few pieces of firewood were damp with no kindling or newspaper to start the fire. We made do only because a friend drove back to her home and brought back the needed supplies. Everyone had a good time but could have been an awesome time with some attention to detail.

Very easy experience to rent this property

Had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Fox Den over Labor Day week. The cottage was perfect for my wife, myself and our 2 dogs. Aside from a couple rainy days at the beginning of the week, weather was great. A beautiful spot on Parker Pond for swimming and kayaking. Watched the moon rise almost every night sitting by the fire pit. Dogs were kept entertained by the local ducks and the fenced yard allowed them to roam around without worry. Mayberry Hill preserve and Jugtown forest are very close and provide good trails to hike. We got breakfast sandwiches and Whoopie pies almost everyday from Kindred Farms, pumpkin whoopie pies! Too good. The Fox Den is an amazing place! Hope to stay again next year.

Our week at Fox Den was just what we had hoped for. Waking up to the fog lifting from the pond was a perfect way to start the day. This place definitely has a lot to offer. We enjoyed everything from cooking on the grill, laying in the sun, kayaking, swimming, fishing off the dock, watching the ducks and seeing and hearing the loons. We were also very impressed with the use of space at the cottage. There was ample space for relaxing, visiting with family and parking. All in all a good place to spend a vacation. You thought of it all!

Fan-friggin-tastic!!!!
There really isn’t enough space here to describe this home. I say home because it’s so much more than a lakeside cottage. It’s impeccably decorated with what I’d call upscale lake decor. Not pretentious in any way. The master bedroom with the barn doors into the room and spacious bath are amazing. That design is continued into the headboard as well. The view from the den and kitchen makes you think your right in the lake! And it’s air conditioned! We only used it twice but what a huge plus!! We loved the HUGE deck right off the den also directly lake front. More awesome seating by a huge fire pit lakefront. And just below that more seating in a sandy area also right at the waters edge. Great dock seating also. Don’t forget your fishing gear, I caught some amazing lake trout right from the dock. One of the great things that was mentioned was it’s dog friendly. One thing I didn’t see in line was the entire yard is completely fenced it making it safe, and stress free for our little dog to explore. We just left yesterday and we are already looking forward to next year. I hit some of the high points here but trust me, there’s actually more. The owners were super quick to respond anytime I had a question which was great also. Kayaks, fire pit, lake, grill, fishing, swimming, this place has it all! Thank you so much to the owners for allowing us to spend some time at your lakeside home. You’ve done an amazing job to make all of your renters needs met. See you next year!!

Relaxing lake life
We enjoyed our stay at this property very much. Having coffee as the fog lifted off the lake, and enjoying quiet time with family was great. We cooked over the fire pit several times, enjoyed the outside area and deck, and were able to watch the Stanley cup on a rainy night. Easy ride to get back to Portland around 302 traffic- also a bonus.

Fabulous stay!
Our family had a fabulous stay at this property! It was clean, modern, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We had perfect weather and really enjoyed kayaking, fishing, sitting by the fire, paddle boarding and enjoying our meals on the beautiful deck. The owners were extremely responsive to all our questions and the camp had everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy ourselves. We especially loved seeing the full moon rise over the pond and the loons and other wildlife on the water. We hope to be back next year. 5 stars plus!

Myself and my family had a great stay at this rental. Beautiful spot on the lake with great ammenties. Unfortunately we had unseasonable low temps and rain which dampened our abilities to get the most out of this place but nevertheless we made the best of it.

Cozy waterfront property
My family and I were visiting from out of state for a funeral & we were scrambling to find a place that would accommodate our newborn son, 4 adults, and two dogs. We needed a stovetop and a refrigerator for our son and the fox den had both. The beds were super comfortable and the newly added master bedroom & bathroom was a perfect addition! There was excellent water pressure as well as ample amounts of hot water. Definitely recommend this waterfront property!

Great New Years in Casco!

The house is close proximity to numerous little hikes, fields as well as restaurants and breweries. We had an awesome time and hope to come back!

Happy Getaway.
We were very please with this home. It was clean and sanitized. Loved the style of the home. View was so beautiful and felt so peaceful. We left feeling very relaxed. The only two suggestions we would have is: A more comfy couch. (the couch in the living room was very uncomfortable) More room in the pantry area. ( there was quite a bit of food and products in the pantry when we got there) So it did not leave a lot of room for the food we brought. Others then that we loved the place and will most likely be renting this house in the future.

Fall Getaway
We had a great long weekend at the Fox Den. My husband and I with another couple and our dog really enjoyed the house. Being November, we were too late for the foliage but the view of the lake was just beautiful. I'm sure during the warmer months there would be much to do. We had some rain, but were still able to get out for a couple of long walks along the other side of the lake. A quick ride for groceries and definitely make sure to get to the corner bakery for some yummy treats. Eileen is super easy to talk to and was very responsive to our questions. A great getaway!

Perfect getaway, just what we were looking for. The location for us was perfect
Eileen and Mike had a great piece of property, exactly what my husband and I needed. They have a beautiful Camp/ home with all the amenities that you would need and a perfect location. There was an abundance of Room & space for family or guests.
Mike and Eileen were extremely hospitable and helpful hosts. any questions we had wete answered promptly and without hesitation .They were helpful with local activities and areas of off-season shops that perhaps we would not have known about otherwise

Lovely retreat setting for girls trip!
I took my mom for a relaxing trip to Maine to see the fall leaves, and this cabin was perfect. Newly remodeled - very clean and cute. Gorgeous view of the water, in a quiet and calm location. Convenient to beach parks at Lake Sebago and easy drive back into Portland for dining (plus some good local options nearby). Property manager very responsive and made check in/check out easy. Only flag is to give people a heads up that the cabin doesn’t provide linens (bedding or towels). It’s easy to miss that in the listing and accidentally arrive surprised! But fortunately we caught it, and there’s a Walmart nearby where you can get an inexpensive linens if you don’t want to pack them. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

All was good. Was everything I wanted in a Maine cabin. Was disappointed in that there was no bottled water available on arrival. Being Fall, would have liked more than 10 pieces of fire wood. Having a box of dry kindling would have been good. But those were very minor. The cabin and location were great!

The yard for our dog and the beach for our toddler was incredible. The adults loved the kayaks and the firepit. Communication with Eileen was very easy and we missed The Fox Den as soon as we left it. This property has inspired us to potentially look for a lake house of our own in the future. So relaxing!
