You can book each property separately from each other, or book them both together. See more info below: For 7-night bookings, we normally book from Monday to Monday to allow folks who are also having events (such as a wedding or family reunions) to have time to set up before the event and then have a relaxing day of clean up before checking out. SHARE YOUR VACATION or retreat with friends or family, but enjoy the space, privacy and comfort of an Inn with its authentic old-world charm (1889) and modern updated amenities. OR, have a smaller group? Check out our chalet next door! See below for more details on the chalet. The Inn sleeps up to 30 in 10 uniquely decorated, well-appointed bedrooms with 10 bathrooms. Most bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms and one of the 3rd floor bedrooms has a spectacular view from the ensuite outdoor deck. There is a mixture of queen, king and twin-sized beds. A few of them are bunks. Perfect for extended family gatherings or small retreats. It is also perfect for weddings and there have been many wonderful marriages at the Portage Inn. The large kitchen is fully outfitted with pretty much everything you need to cook up a storm and serve up to 30 people. It has many counter surfaces, 2 fridges and a Garland stove with 6 burners and 2 ovens, a commercial dishwasher, a triple sink and in the adjacent laundry room there is are 2 additional fridges and a deep freezer behind the bar in the Great Room. Large families and caterers love it. There is a second kitchen on the 3rd floor. Most bedrooms have window air conditioning during the summer, and the kitchen, lounge and great room also have their own air conditioning and all have heat of course. INN BEDDING/TOWELS: We offer pillows (with pillow protectors), blankets, mattress covers and bathmats and invite guests to bring their own sheets and towels. We can offer that optional service for an additional fee of $350. The Great Room provides dining areas for up to 30 and sports a large stone central fireplace, a pool table, a bar and lots of games. The 400-square-foot adjacent lounge is a screening room with a large-screen smart TV, and is also suitable as a meeting room. Outside, the 1500 square foot patio, just off the Great Room with fantastic views of the lake and sunset, has tables/chairs for up to 60 and a propane BBQ. This is where most wedding parties have their reception under a big tent (you rent the tent--up to 60 people allowed). There is a pretty English garden and open lawn areas perfect for games as well as a fire-pit. There is also lots of parking. INN WATERFRONT: At the lake, a 4-minute walk down the hill, and across a dead-end dirt road, there is a sandy/pebbly walk-in beach and the inn's exclusive private dock. The lake is great for swimming, fishing and boating. We provide some canoes, kayaks, paddle boat & 15 floating lily pad for your use, free of charge. Let us know if you wish to bring your own boat and we can discuss any related details. INN INDOOR AMENITIES include: High speed cable internet, satellite TV, Smart 65 inch TV, DVD player, an ipod/CD player and pool table. INN PARKING: Lots of parking for cars and boat trailers. If you want to bring your own boat, please check with us first. INN: An additional event venue fee for weddings or other events would apply. Just ask and we will send our wedding info. It is a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) wedding so we provide the venue and you handle everything else. We do not get between you and your vendors. We do offer resources and guidance, however. INN RATES: Maximum 30 Overnight Guests. Special events can go up to 60 day guests. The Canadian dollar prices for the Inn for 2024 are as follows: Nightly rate $1900/night for the first 2 nights (or first 3 if a long weekend) and $1200 for additional nights plus HST. Weekly: $9,200.00, Cleaning is $610.00, and then of course the HST. INN REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT: $1600 and $3,000 for special events. (Assuming we don't need to use it --we almost never do) refundable within 7 days of your departure. INN VENUE FEE: Additional event venue fee for weddings or other events would apply. The amount depends on the number of guests you wish to have. INN and CHALET PAYMENT: We take Interac bank transfers, or credit cards (4% extra for cc's). CANCELLATION POLICY: If we can rebook your dates, a full refund (or the amount received by the replacement guests--whichever is less) minus an admin fee of $750 for the inn, or $250 for the chalet. If we cannot rebook, then the cleaning fee, any special event venue fee, and security/damage deposit (and any applicable HST) are fully refundable. (We find it does not work for us to take dates off the market, turn other guests away (dozens over time) and take the risk for everybody else's crazy schedules! And, nobody ever knocks on our door looking for last-minute accommodation for 10 to 30 people.) This property is great for family vacations, weddings (maximum 60 wedding guests) or retreats of any sort. We've had business retreats, artists' retreats, yoga retreats or educational retreats. We help connect you with vendors such as caterers. THE CHALET! Some folks renting the inn might need more accommodation for more guests. Or the chalet can be rented separately. The chalet is next door and has two floors that have separate entrances and each their own kitchen, dining and living rooms, and we rent out both floors to the same group. The chalet can be booked on its own and is not automatically included in a booking for the inn and there are separate fees for the chalet rental. The properties are a 4 min walk and private from each other—they cannot be seen from each other. The inn has approx. 4 acres around it. The chalet has approx. 1 acre around it. 2024 Rates for the Chalet: $650/night plus HST for the first 2 nights (or first 3 if a long weekend). Additional nights: $450/night plus HST. Weekly: $3,000 plus HST (July and August are minimum 1 week: Monday check-in), Final Cleaning :$290 Refundable damage deposit: $1000. CHALET BEDDING/TOWELS: We offer pillows (with pillow protectors), blankets, mattress covers and bathmats and invite guests to bring their own sheets and towels. We can offer that optional service for an additional fee of $175 for the chalet. THE UPPER CHALET: Three bedrooms: One small bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite 1/2 bath. A galley kitchen fully outfitted. An open living/dining room . A mudroom. An upper deck looking out over the lake. Satellite TV and High speed cable Internet. Air conditioning and heat. THE LOWER CHALET. Two Bedrooms: One large bedroom with a queen bed. One medium-sized bedroom with a queen bed. An open living/dining room/fully outfitted kitchen. Full bathroom with bathtub/shower. A laundry room. Screened in porch with picnic table. Satellite TV High speed Internet. Air conditioning and Heat. CHALET PROPERTY: Over 1 private acre with open area for games and a fire pit.
