About this house rental
Nestled in Colorado, this attractive house for $679 per night is a great option for your next break. For a video tour of this home, search the internet for Rocky Ridge Lodge Granby or click this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXwYQK2Y66o. You will find the 2 videos: Rocky Ridge Lodge, and Rocky Ridge Lodge Vacation Rental: Extended version." They give you an accurate perspective of our home, inside and out, as well as the surrounding countryside. This spectacular, one-of-a-kind log house was built by us in 2003. The 18' Engleman Spruce logs are from Southern Utah and were designed and built specially for our home -- truly a work of art! Sitting on 17.5 acres, high upon a ridge, the views are nothing less than amazing, including the Continental Divide. Each room in the house has been carefully designed and decorated featuring high-end furnishings and comfort at every turn. An individual theme has been given to each of the five master suites, including the Luxury Master Suite, the Bear Room, the Moose Room, the Fish Room, and the Cowboy Room. All bedroom mattresses were replaced as of May, 2023, and are gloriously comfortable. If you are a movie or game buff, check out our movie/game room with the projector TV and 11-foot movie screen with surround sound for a movie theater experience. We are a NON-SMOKING, NO ANIMAL home. The owner's children, as well as some of our guests, have severe reactions to these allergens, and in order to safeguard their health and well-being, these requirements are non-negotiable. All four seasons are enjoyed and appreciated in this home. It is a great gathering place, whether for relaxation, fun, beauty, nature or to create memories of a lifetime. Our favorites are tubing down our road in the winter and building a fire to roast s'mores in the summer! We hope to provide an unforgettable vacation for you and fulfill your dreams!

This is our families second time staying here and. We look forward coming back and creating more memories. This beautiful cabin is about 25-30 min from Winter Park where we go skiing and snow tubing. It’s about 25 min away from hot springs. I suggest buying your groceries in Denver is possible because the grocery store prices in Granby are ridiculously high. I would recommend 4x4 vehicle because the driveway is steep and full of snow during the winter and you will need it. We left snow sleds there for the next guests it’s so much fun sledding down the driveway. This place is the best for families! If only it had a hot tub!

Our party of 12, two families, had a wonderful time at this Grandby home. I wasn't quite ready for the amazing view. Coffee on the deck every morning, a very important part of this annual trip, was perfect. We could hear the elk bugle in the mornings. A campfire one night was great fun. Plenty of room, room in a kitchen with plenty of space to set out meals for all of us. Proximity to the Grand Lake area and hiking trails was perfect, and close enough to home so we were not traveling all day like we have in the past. We had a great time. Everything was comfortable. The only miniscule little thing I would recommend for a house of that size that attracts large groups, is maybe another coffee maker. Thats all. It was all great.

We loved watching sunsets from the west facing deck! Fantastic, remote, huge property!!! Large home with lots stuff inside, a couple of dead flies and dust, but great layout and home.
Our family of 10 loved our stay, and the owner was easy to reach with questions. We loved our stay watching the sunset and playing games in the evening!

This is a beautiful log home settled in the moutains near Granby, Colorado. There are so many fun things to do near by. We enjoyed our evenings out on the large deck watching the meteor showers most of the week, and the fire pit. If you are looking for a fun get away this is your place in Colorado! We were there when it was warm so we didn't even get to the large screen theatre room.

This property worked very well for our group of 9 adults, with plenty of room to spare for a larger group. Each bedroom has it's own very nice bathroom, which everyone appreciated. The kitchen is large and well equipped and the deck was a great place to sit and admire the views. It was in the perfect location for our son's wedding at Strawberry Creek Ranch.

We really enjoyed this property!! The views were amazing!
Very spacious. It was so nice having a bathroom connected to every bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and cookware. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved and enjoyed staying in this cabin. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, plus two more in the house. Everything works perfectly. 20min away from Rocky Mountain, 4miles away from food stores and restaurants. This is a perfect place to get away and enjoy the nature!
Host Nila was very kind!
Definitely would recommend!

Property met the needs of our family (8 adults, 8 children) perfectly. Plenty of room for us all with more than adequate bathrooms and laundry facilities. About 30 mins from the entrance to Rocky Mtn National Park which was a major focus for our group.

Would recommend and would stay again. Beautiful views, and very clean home. A great place to stay while away from home.

Beautiful views, lots of room for our large family, good parking, plenty of toiletries and kitchen and laundry supplies some beds not for older teens. Lighting very dim in most rooms, furniture and cabinets - whole house needs a thorough cleaning.
I would greatly recommend if cleaning was done

Overall, the main draws of the property delivered -- absolutely amazing views (even better than expected), lots of open space for groups to spend time, GREAT location in the mountains, plenty of parking. Big kitchen space with 2 dishwashers, high quality house itself that everyone had a good time in. Close to what you wanna be close to while in the mountains in CO!
On the downsides: There was a *lot* of signs everywhere warning of potential extra charges (don't touch any cords or there will be an electrician service fee, don't shift any furniture or there will be a fee, etc). The good thing is, there weren't any additional charges applied since we took lots of extra care during the trip/while cleaning before leaving, but it made the group feel slightly uncomfortable/uneasy about whether we were going to get charged excessively after the fact.
The biggest bummer was that a good chunk of the mattresses (probably 8ish or so of the 20 people that the house sleeps) were inflatable, and would deflate to empty partway through the nights.
5.0
Great view of the mountains, and the kitchen and living room area were perfect for a larger group. There was adequate room for larger groups to dine together and gather in the living room! The kitchen had two dishwashers and two coffee makers which was a plus for 15 to 17 people!
The beds in the five bedrooms were comfortable, in particular the master room was comfy. The pull out couches were not very comfortable, except the one Theatre room pull out we did use was fine. A couple pull outs in bedrooms were uncomfortable even to children. The young couple in the loft bed moved the mattress to the floor to sleep, then the second night they used an air mattress that was provided that had a small leak. The Bear room had a bunk bed that you could move back and forth, so no one slept in that top bunk (I'm sure that has been fixed since we notified them about it).
All five bedrooms had attached bathrooms which was very nice, and the couple that slept comfortably in the Theatre room had a half bathroom right outside the door of the Theatre room.
I'll also mention that the place was very soundproof. You didn't hear footsteps above you, and with the bedroom doors shut, you didn't hear the early risers or late night game players outside talking or laughing.

Wow!!! First let me say this property is beautiful and the best stocked VRBO we have ever stayed in. The layout of the house was excellent. The big bonus we did not realize until we arrived was the game room. This was great for the kids to go downstairs and play in each evening. The kitchen was large enough and well enough equipped for us to do our meals for the group. We just can’t say enough positive things. There were a couple of negatives but not bad enough to keep us from renting this property again. First, we had read that you need 4 wheel drive in the winter in case of snow. You really do. We had one suv that was not 4 wheel that could not make it up the drive one day after it snowed. The other two were ok. And there is no where at the bottom of the drive way to leave your vehicle and it is a very long drive that you wouldn’t want to walk up. We had a small issue with trying to figure out the heating. We think it was floor heating but there was one morning the floor in our bathroom was so hot you couldn’t stand on the tile barefoot. Lastly we locked ourselves out of the house one day. We were lucky that we were able to get in touch with the property owner and he was able to help us. I would suggest they put a key code lock on the door coming from the garage into the house. The pluses on the property definitely outweigh the negatives.

We took all of our children and their families (14 in all) for our 50th anniversary trip. The house was very spacious and we were never tripping over one another. Also, there was plenty of seating in the kitchen and dining areas so we could all sit down and eat together. The house was as beautiful as it looked online and the views were amazing! If you go in the winter months, make sure you have a 4-wheel or at least an all-wheel drive as we did have trouble getting up the long drive.

Pictures don’t do justice for the property. Great views from every room. From us driving up there we had good communication with Nila, she walked us Thru everything. Kids had so much fun sledding and playing in snow. Everything was nice and clean. Property is not to far from town. Roads were kept up and plowed (all wheel drive recommended). Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed as pans and pots plates ect.

I booked this place a year ago for my wedding. We paid an extra event fee to have an event at this space and signed a lengthy contract of all the rules. We invited 38 guests, all adults. Spent a year coordinating the vendors and ensuring it would be the perfect, intimate celebration for my fiancé and I. We checked in around 5p on Friday, unloaded the truck and started setting up for Saturday. Our family and friends staying at the property (there were only 10) started trickling in that evening. At 8:30p I get a call from someone in Colorado. We are all sitting at the kitchen table visiting. It was the owner calling me to tell me about the laundry list of rules - no shoes on the carpet, no moving furniture, no noise after 7p, no bonfires too large, on and on. I just listened until he was done and said we were all respectful adults. This conversation added to my anxiety of putting on a wedding and all there was to be done and go wrong. My friends and family heard the whole thing and thought it was very strange and controlling. I had never talked to the owner before, only the property manager, Nila. So we have the wedding ceremony at 2:30p, reception at 5:30p. Some of our guests took a detour accidentally to a wedding next door with a different wedding sign on the street. All the guests not staying left by 9p, all the guests staying were in the house by 10p getting ready for bed. Then I get a call waking me up at 4a on my wedding night from the owner yelling at me. He said the cops were called at 12:30a and he told me quiet hours were at 7p so what happened. I said everyone has been inside the house not making a sound since at least 10p and there was another wedding next door that we heard being loud. He continued being rude and said he needed to make some calls but he would be calling me back. (Wouldn’t the only call you need to make be the Sheriff’s office?) No one had heard or even seen the cops that night. I confirmed with friends and family staying there the next morning at a reasonable time. I couldn’t fall back asleep after the 4a call because I was shaking from being so upset. I made everyone pack up a day early to get the heck off the property so I didn’t have to deal with the disrespectful owner. He texted me Sunday even with threats of the neighbors watching. Don’t rent out your space if you are that untrusting. Thanks for ruining my wedding weekend.

We used this house as our venue for a small wedding. It was perfect. From the beautiful views and sunsets, to the privacy of the many rooms within the house. The adults loved the space to spread out and enjoy the scenery while the kids had a blast playing on the playground and having a bonfire. We held out ceremony on the driveway overlooking the valley, then used the entrance for our dinner space then back down to the driveway for dancing and toasts! The wraparound deck, the balconies off the bedrooms, the open living spaces created a wonderful space to celebrate with our closest family and friends. The house was well stocked with baby items, kids, toys, wide variety of kitchen items to prepare all meals and wonderful social areas to gather and catch up. My new husband and I thoroughly loved using this property to celebrate our marriage and we would definitely recommend this property for family get togethers or small events!

Lovely views. Large rooms. Many options to have more guests with pull out couches. Kitchen was well equipped. Hard to get in to the door at first. Had to call the property manager and have a bit of tug of war to get in but alas we figured ot out.

The property is even more stunning than seen in the photos. The view particularly off the back deck is the best I’ve ever seen from a rental property.
Would highly recommend.

What a great location! We held our wedding here and hosted our family for a little less than a week. Amazing views, close to Rocky Mountain National park, and the lakes. A fantastic memory that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Very understanding and flexible owner with good communication! Would absolutely love to stay again.

Wonderful spot for a gathering.
We rented this property for our son and daughter-in-law and some of their bridesmaids for their covid make up wedding celebration. It was the perfect spot for them to spend time together. The large open living spaces with the views over Granby are amazing! And the bedrooms (most with en suites) provided the perfect amount of privacy. They cooked together and had everything they needed. They all loved being together in such a magical spot.

Long Weekend w Family
Outstanding views and space. The property in & of itself was stellar. If you want a log cabin experience with 5 spacious bedrooms & 7 bathrooms, this is the VRBO for you! Much was made to accommodate a large family/families. We had 6 sisters/1 brother w a few spouses for a family reunion in the area. Many adults could be utilizing the kitchen at one time. Great for cooking & cleaning up. The great room on the main level was our favorite with views and high ceiling space for relaxation/conversation.
Minimal drawbacks included the following, all avoidable. Tape on the plastic dining room seat coverings. The tape was coming off & left sticky/tacky debris on clothing. Heavy furniture over the outlets by the beds in the upstairs bedrooms. Hard to plug in your phone/watch at night. Maybe a USB clock by the bed? Finally, there is a great deal of “stuff” in the house in terms of items on tables/desks/nightstands, etc. Where to put your stuff without bothering the existing decor?
All in all a great stay! 5 stars
