Rustic 1960's Oceanfront Cottage With Modern Updates
About this house rental
Situated in Oak Island, this charming house for $230 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This charming 1960's Cottage is a 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom single story home. The Oceanfront location has approximately 1200 square feet, renovated bathrooms with tile showers while the home maintains the original 1960's charm with Hardwood Floors in the bedrooms and Vaulted Beam ceilings throughout the home. The kitchen is mostly original, handmade cabinets, so no Granite or Marble Counter tops, but fully functional. The beds were fitted throughout with QUALITY Mattresses, so you will wake up feeling refreshed and ready for a day of fun. Housekeeping/cleaning fee for all rentals is $125.00 Cancellation insurance available through VRBO. Damage Protection Insurance of $89 may be purchased through VRBO in lieu of $350 refundable deposit Linen Charge of $125/stay is required during peak season. Linen package can be deleted for stays during Fall, Winter and Spring reservations or for less than 7 days. In peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Changeover date is Saturday, booked by the week. As we use the home frequently ourselves, we occasionally make minor updates to the furnishings and decor, so check back regularly for updates. We do not allow animals of any kind, as an accommodation to several allergen sensitive repeat guests.

We were four lady golfers here for a golf tournament at the Clubs at St James (about 13 minutes away). The house could hold many more but we enjoyed having our own rooms. The house is charming but could use a few cosmetic repairs. But you can’t beat the view and proximity to the ocean! Thanks, Pete!

This ocean front home is such a great place to stay. This was our second time there and will not be our last. It is conveniently located to several places that we love on Oak Island. The owner is very nice and easy to work with to make our trip a great experience. We absolutely love sitting out on the beautiful deck and enjoying the beach and ocean.

great house lots of sleeping room. the only issue I had was no toilet paper when you arrive. no soap or dish detergent. most places supply a little to start with. awesome views, very relaxing. Quaint and comfy. great communication with owner.

We had a fine stay here. Only two of us so we didnt take advantage of the multiple beds. We had some nice coffees on the beach facing porch after the big storm had come through in August. Thanks.

Love this place! Perfect for our family to stay! Very comfortable beds and lots of room for our gang to gather around the table, or the den for a movie or the deck to hang out. Beach access is perfect!

I traveled with my 5 grandchildren and daughter and daughter in law. We had the best experience at Oak Island. We had never visited the island before and found it to be amazing.
We enjoyed our stay in your delightful cottage. The view of the ocean was superb and the distance to the beach was perfect for the young and the old (me, ha). Your well stocked cottage was filled with good quality items such as mattresses, pillows, blankets, kitchen ware. There was nothing you did not have that we needed. My grandchildren also enjoyed being able to stay together in the bunk rooms. The layout of the house added to our comfort.
I did want to let you know that there were a couple of issues on the porches. The corner board on the landing was loose on the front, screen was on front door and some of the soffit was missing on the back. I know it could have been due to a storm but should be fixed.
Otherwise, thanks for letting us use your charming beach house.

Great location, easy to find, spacious, comfy furniture and beds, with exception of Queen Bed. Needs new Box Spring. Easy access to beach. Well stocked in Kitchen, lots of beach accessories. Our family definitely made memories.
Home was not cleaned well upon arrival. Car got stuck due to, too much sand on the driveway and could see where the concrete ended. Driveway needs to be cleared of sand better.
All drains in house were clogged or slow drain. Luckily son is a plumber and unclogged drains.
Home seemed over priced for how outdated it was. Also, suggest owner hire new Maintance and cleaning company! Dealing with owner was great!

Having linens and towels provided was an extra bonus. The family enjoyed the large kitchen table, and the deck off the back was superb. What we got for the price we paid was very reasonable. I had stayed previously on the east side of Beach Drive; I enjoyed the stay on the west side much better. I don't know how you could go wrong with the location, 4 bedrooms, and a very helpful host. Our stay was delightful. I heartily endorse the rental property and will most likely return for another stay there.

Very quaint and comfy home with everything we needed to relax and enjoy a family vacation. We loved that it was a community of homes and not high rises or businesses, although stores are nearby for shopping. The beach was clean and not crowded and we had a great time shell hunting and even found a couple of shark teeth. We'll definitely be back!

The view of the ocean was amazing, so much so that we chose to get married right out on the beach!
If you come you will love it,... make sure to bring bug spray for the"no see em gnats" on the deck!

We came to this house with our 3 young-adult children and our teenager. I have to admit, I was a little concerned that the house would be a little too small for us from the pictures. We were pleasantly surprised at how roomy it was. While the house is not super large, all the spaces are used very well, and the high ceilings gave it a very open feel. The bedrooms were nice sized and beds very comfortable. It is a beautiful rustic kind of house and is sort of like a blast from the past in a nice way. It does need a little TLC, but that didn’t bother us and it accommodated our family very well. The porch facing the ocean was a super hit for us. We spent quite a lot of time relaxing on the porch, watching dolphins, and local creatures/birds. We even got to see jellyfish washed up on the shore. The beach is calm, quiet, and beautiful, unless there is a storm and theres lots of shells. We really enjoyed the new Thai and vine restaurant in town and we got amazing doughnuts almost every morning from I believe OKI doughnut shop. It was a wonderful experience and we would certainly rent this house again. Thank you for letting us use your house!! Blessings!

We enjoyed a warm, welcoming cottage with our adult children and my parents. I appreciated that this cottage was super homey and the beachfront access and views were just the icing on the cake!
