About this cabin rental
Located in Frye Island, this lovely cabin for $270 per night is a great option for your next break. Cabin is located on beautiful Frye Island Maine - just a ferry ride away from Island time. Beach 5 is a short ride by golf cart or a 5 minute walk. During your stay you will have access to high speed internet, two smart TV's, a washer, dryer, mini-split A/C unit, electric baseboard heat and a beautiful 3 season tiled den. There is a spacious farmers porch in the front and a large deck in the back with a new outdoor Blackstone Griddle and a Teak table with 6 chairs for outdoor dining. The farmers porch provides an outdoor mini fridge and ample seating for relaxing, reading, listening to music or old fashioned conversations. The side yard has a fire pit with chairs and the back yard is fully fenced in for children and pets. The cabin accommodates 7 guests - there are 3 bedrooms (each with ample closet space) and 2 full bathrooms, one on each floor. Master bedroom (1st floor): New Queen bed, dresser. Bunk bedroom (2nd floor): Top Twin bed, Bottom double and trundle bed – 2 dressers. Guest bedroom (2nd floor): New Queen bed, dresser. We offer rentals as follows: High season; 5 nights rental minimum June 15 through Labor Day Low season; 3 nights rental minimum May 1 - June 14 and Labor Day - October 31. Check-in is 4 pm; check-out is 11 am. Pets welcome for additional $100 fee. A golf cart is available for use (seats 4). Inside is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, toaster, and a washer/dryer. Stone fireplace is central in the living/dining room with pine flooring and vaulted ceilings. We provide pillows, comforters, bed linens and extra blankets. Towels are available. Please bring your own paper products. The closet beach is Beach 5 - other amenities on the Island include family-friendly recreation and anything water or exercise related: 12 public beaches 9-hole golf course with driving range and leisure lounge Swimming pool Pickle ball, tennis, and basketball courts Soccer/baseball fields Recreation center Playground Walking trails The Frye Island General Store is open daily with a full-service waterfront restaurant and bar. Check out the golf course lounge for live music and weekend entertainment. Rates: Nightly fee: $300 high and $270 low season. Cleaning fee: $150 Pet fee: $100 per pet

My family and I had a great weeklong stay at this spacious cabin, which was as pictured. Good, quiet location with Beach 5 and the general store within a 10-15min walk.
James was a very responsive host.
The cabin had pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but I’d recommend adding the following to the usual packing list:
- Toiletries including soap
- Laundry detergent and sheets
- Extra toilet paper, paper towel/napkins
- Nonstick frying pan
- Good wine opener
The golf cart was not working when we visited, but that didn’t negatively affect our stay.
Be warned- Wifi is extremely slow.
Frye Island is a wonderful, special place with clean, inviting water and friendly folks! We can’t wait to come back next year!

There were four of us at this property, but there was definitely room for more. The house and location were as tranquil and peaceful as they look in the pictures.
The good: location, space, outdoor space, wonderful areas for gathering, hanging out, etc. size was perfect with all the comforts of home. Jim was a dream to work with.
The “meh” - there’s no air conditioning, and it was HOT. The house could have been cleaner, and some things need more TLC/attention paid. (I think whoever is managing the property relies on the fact that the owners are not there to check on it.)
The kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc. are definitely “vacation house” quality. If you’re cooking for a crowd, you should think about bringing your own supplies.
The wifi is just not good. You will not be streaming anything, and zoom meetings are out of the question.
Overall, though, our stay was wonderful. We’ve already booked for next year! Frye Island is remote and quiet. This is not where you go for nightlife, but if you’re looking for a reasonably priced stay with a beautiful lake and a chill vibe, you’ve found it. The cabin is 0.3 miles from beach 5, an easy walk and close enough to come back for lunch!

What a great location! So close to the best beaches yet off the beaten path that made relaxing on the farmers porch a joy.
As others have said Jim was quick to respond when we had a question about the tv and Internet.
Actually my only complaint would be a lack of dependable wifi. But this also forced me to disconnect

The house was actually nicer in person than I expected from the photos. It was comfortable and had a nice cabin feel without being too rustic. The layout was great for my group - myself, husband, our 2 year old and our 2 friends. Having the separate porch area made it easy to entertain our 2yo without waking up the others and having 2 bathrooms was key.
The location was good. Beach 5 is within walking distance and seems to be one of the more popular beaches. Beach 6 wasn't far and we enjoyed that one as well. Also nice to be able to walk to the store/cafe.
It was a shame the golf carts weren't working as that was a major reason I chose this particular property. The kitchen could use some new tools - anything you'd use for cooking (spatulas, large spoons, etc) were pretty flimsy and made it a challenge to cook anything.
We had a great week and I plan to come back to Frye next year. Notes for next time: put gas in the car before you get to the island (no gas on the island), we used the car more than expected and got dangerously low on gas! Also I should have brought paper towels and laundry detergent.
Overall we had a great time and got a feel for what a special place Frye Island is.

The owner gave us a one time 15 dollar round trip. The 35 dollars was never explained. Other than this the place was great and I would recommend it.

Frye Island Family Fun
We had a wonderful stay at Jim's house. The house was even better than we expected with lots of space,beautiful porches and a fire pit in the side yard. Beach 1 is the shortest walk, so that's where we took the dogs in the mornings for their swim and then with the golf cart we enjoyedany other beaches during the day. We had a great time. Thanks Jim!

What a great property! The house was private, yet still very close to everywhere we wanted to go -- beach, golf course, etc. The covered deck and screened in porch made even the rainy days enjoyable. The use of the golf cart was a huge bonus! Jim was great to work with very responsive to my questions.

Very quiet, well-equipped and peaceful. The use of the golf cart was a huge bonus. Very close to Beach 5 and the ballfields too; excellent communication with the owner. The outdoor space with a large deck and a farmer's porch at the property is awesome.

Great location and space
This house is adorable and conveniently located. Lots of space to accommodate larger families. It was great having a washer and dryer and dishwasher! The outside has a great deal of space and the sunroom is delightful. Jim was great to work with and quickly answered questions/comments. Although there was an unexpected issue with cleaning, Jim was very accommodating!!

This cabin in the woods has all the modern conveniences. Owner responds very quickly. We didn’t want to leave for sure. Morning coffee on the porch followed by a walk to Beach 5 will surely start your day off with a smile.

Fantastic property and location
We stayed for a week in June and the camp was perfect for our group (two couples and two young children). The washer, dryer, dishwasher, and golf cart are huge bonuses when traveling with kids. It was just the right size that we didn’t feel on top of on another, and the porches and sun room were great. Location is perfect for quick trips to the beach, the cafe, the playground, the ball park. Very comfortable camp, all around. If I could make one small improvement, it would be the upstairs double bed. It’s completely functional, but I think it would be more comfortable with a new frame or box spring. Hope to be back next year!

Great 3 weeks
Wonderful 3 bdrm cabin in the woods on Frye Island. Cabin had plenty of space when our children visited. When the extended family visited the front, rear, and enclosed porch area easily accommodated everyone. This cabin had all the features plus being on Frye Island with tennis and pickle ball courts, golf course, many beaches, general store, great cafe, and lots of wildlife to watch with your early morning coffee. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 😀😀😀
