About this house rental
Nestled in Kansas, this lovely house for $125 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The newly constructed (2016) Remington Ranch Lodge is a 2,200 sq ft facility designed for those looking for that hunter/outdoorsman living experience. We can book exclusively or accommodate several clients on a room by room basis. So if the calendar shows that we have guests, we still may be able to accommodate your needs. Please check with us for availability. The lodge is located just 5 minutes NE of beautiful Independence, Ks and sits over 1/4 mile off the road squarely in the middle of 114 acres. Upland hunt packages (Pheasant, Chukar, Quail) are available November 1st thru February 31st upon request or just simply relax with your fishing pole around our 3 acre lake just outside your door (Catch and Release Only). Remington Ranch is also "Pet Friendly" and has kennels on the grounds. So don't hesitate to bring that special friend or hunting partner for that incredible upland hunt experience. Want to hunt but don't have a dog…??? No problem. We have on staff some of the best upland dogs in the country. We are a working Ranch and dog training facility. We do keep some client dogs on site. The dogs can be a little noisy at feeding time or if the coyotes come up at night but are generally not an issue with our guests. What about deer and turkey hunting you ask…??? Remington Ranch is just minutes away from over 14,000 acres of Kansas State Public Hunting Areas. Much of this state owned public land is also some of the best waterfowl hunting in the state. In addition, there are also hundreds of acres of privately owned public access properties in this same area. If that's not enough, the Independence area also boosts several top sport fishing lakes and waterways including Elk City Reservoir, Big Hill Reservoir, Independence State Lake, the Verdigris River, and Elk River.

Property was as advertised. Owners were helpful, pool table was fun, lots of memorabilia to look at, not too far off the highway. There were just two of us but we could see it is a great place for adult get-togethers.

We absolutely loved this place. It was perfect for a family trip to the area for me to run the FlatRock 50K on my 50th birthday. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out, comfortable beds, and very well furnished. Everything was so clean and the hosts provided many special personal touches.
The hosts were amazing - responsive, friendly, but not intrusive. I would absolutely stay here again.

Russel met us upon arrival. He took 5 minutes to give us a walk through of the property and make sure we didn’t have any questions which was not something I had before. There are dogs on the property but they were not a bother at all. Lots of cool memorabilia to look at. Property was very clean with lots of areas and room to relax.

Remington Ranch was a delight! Hosts, Rusty and Jan were amazing! The property is beautiful and maintained like a park! The Independence area provides some well maintained trails to hike and water sport activities. Rusty and Jan were very knowledgeable of the area and always available to answer any questions we had. Fishing on the property was a blast and the dog training facilities top notch! Would highly recommend Remington Ranch and Rusty and Jan’s hospitality! Thank you!

It’s a nice location just 9 minutes from downtown Independence, KS. It was very clean and new and had a great hunting lodge feel with mounted trophies and some raw wood elements mixed in with the finished wood walls and railings. It’s attached to a world renowned bird-dog training kennel so you’ll hear dogs barking some, but if you enjoy dogs and want to see some impressive bird-dog history memorabilia you’ll love it. My 13 year old son and I had a great pool tournament on the nice billiard table and played some checkers to top the night off. There is a fishing pond as well, although we didn’t get an opportunity to use that.

The stay that my wife and me had was so relaxing!
The Baker’s are incredibly kind and are as accommodating as a host can be. We were provided with a 4x4 to take out around the property. Every question/ need that we had was met during our stay.
This place is wonderful if you are wanting to get away, unplug, and relax. Very spacious yet cozy at the same time!

My 3 sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacay. The girls were already saying how nice it would be in slightly warmer weather to really be able to enjoy outdoor amenities on the property. Added to our favorites placed booked and look forward to staying again in the future.

I was only needing a place to stay for one night that was safe and comfortable. This property exceeded my expectations in every category. Rusty and his wife were very welcoming and were available for any needs that might arise. The property has great fishing lakes to pass your downtime. It was definitely more space than I needed but it was so nice to have all of the amenities and comforts. I will definitely book this property again if I'm in the area. I would highly recommend this property.

Property was beautiful, owners were awesome and welcoming and we truly felt they wanted to insure we enjoyed our stay. So much to do I don’t think the kids looked at their iPads or phones all week. Fishing was great, caught over 50 fish in one afternoon! Hope to come back next year and the next and the next!

You don't have to be a hunter or bird dog lover to enjoy this place. The owner was extremely accommodating and really wants you to enjoy his place as much as he does. Honestly, I am not sure where to start. If I could summarize it in a few words, I will continue to visit this property as many times possible going forward. Everything about our visit was incredibly fun and pleasant. Russel has created his property to be one-of-a-kind in the best way possible. Most importantly, him and his wife are the main reason for this visit being one of the best experiences we have ever had. I could go on forever when it comes to the wonderful things about this property and those who own it. The property is massive. Huge pond stocked with monster bass. I was also excited that I could practice target shooting about 50 yards from the front door. Great for spending your day doing your favorite outdoor activities, settling down to cook a meal in the stocked kitchen, and ending your night relaxing in a beautifully decorated living space. This is a place that allows every type of traveler to have a great experience. Huge thank you to Rusty and his wife.

I had several friends over for a reunion weekend. It was amazing. The property was better than the pictures, the owners were great to work with and it far exceeded all of our expectations. They did an amazing job with the place and it is great for a ga/hearing of family and friends. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

The Lodge in Kansas
This is a beautiful property surrounded by gorgeous countryside. wonderful great room. Rooms are small and just fir sleeping so encourages all gathering in the great room.
Ask the very gracious former fire chief owner to put bark collars on a dog or two and bring ear plugs. Beautiful dogs in their kennel.
