About this cabin rental
BrookView is an aptly named, enchanting log cabin atop a lovely brook. Set in the woods in Fair Mountain Acres and surrounded by rhododendron, but less than 5 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. This large 2,400 square foot, air-conditioned home provides three outside porches (all furnished with comfortable seating and tables for dining). The top back porch is screened and overlooks the brook. Along with the brook, the secluded one acre lot includes a tire swing and fire pit for cooking hot dogs or smores with the family. As you enter BrookView you will find a great room with living area with a two story fireplace, a kitchen and dining area. The living area has a large stone 2-story fireplace with gas logs and a brand new 60” HDTV with a Blu-Ray player and surround sound. The master bedroom is on the main level and comes with a king bed, 50” HDTV, and private bathroom. Upstairs you have the open loft that has a queen bed and overlooks the great room. Also, you will find an upstairs bedroom with a king bed, TV, and another bathroom. Downstairs has four full size beds set up as bunks, a den area, Smart TV, foosball table and full bathroom This is a perfect location with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Appalachian Ski Mountain, the town of Blowing Rock, the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve, Bass & Trout Lakes, Linville Caverns, Tweetsie Railroad, the Westglow Resort & Spa, the Tanger Shoppes on the Parkway, and much much more! We really enjoyed our stay. This property has one of the best floor plans for extended family that we’ve ever spent time in. The three full bathrooms and large beds (even the bunk beds are full sized mattresses) provide comfort and convenience. The great room and the downstairs hang out space give you the option to either all be together or take some private time. The teens loved the downstairs! The kitchen is well stocked and the forest view is pretty. There was a slight mix up during our check in, but this property owner is both kind and attentive. I have already referred this listing to friends for their next getaway.

Brookview was exactly as described and was perfect for our group of 6. All of the beds were comfortable and the home was well stocked. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. Easy drive over to downtown Blowing Rock.

This cabin ended up being the perfect property for our family! For clarity sake, because I found many listings were hard to decipher, the main level has a king bedroom with en-suite bathroom that is also accessible from outside the bedroom. The loft has an open air king bed, a king bedroom, and a bathroom. The basement is open air full size bunk beds x2 with a bathroom. My husband, two small children, and I stayed in the basement so comfortably. Also beware if you travel in winter months, the driveway may be difficult to pull in/out of without 4WD or AWD if there is snow/ice. We had to MacGyver our way out using my cars floor mats, but it was a fun adventure 😆. My mother’s AWD rental had no issues at all.

We really enjoyed our stay! It snowed lightly the whole time which was magical! The cabin is very accessible in the snow. We loved the fireplace and the cabin accommodated 10 people easily. Blowing Rock is just a short drive away!

Our family had 4 adults and 3 kids (11, 12, and 15). The cabin was very cozy and spacious for everyone. The kids pretty much stayed downstairs where they could play their games, watch TV, play foosball, read or just hangout. We spent our entire stay relaxing in the cabin except for 1 run to the store. I would've loved to have stayed longer and would stay here again!
Note, we had a SUV and 2 large sedans, parking was a little tight but could possibly fit 1 more small vehicle.

The cabin was perfect for our group of friends. We were close to Blowing Rock and Boone. We even made the trek up Beech Mountain to snow tube. That was fun!!! My only complaint was the listing had 4 king beds but only had 3, but we used the downstairs bunks instead so it was no problem. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us !!!

Pulling down the gravel driveway, the house was beautiful. Pictures didn’t do it justice. As a family we greatly enjoyed the house and it accommodated our stay. We had 8 adults and 2 children under 3. It was perfect for the family. I would highly recommend this place to stay if you’re in the blowing rock area!

This property was perfect for our stay! It was 9 of us, 6 adults, 3 kids and we were able to be comfortable with ample space! The kids were able to have the basement floor to themselves where there was bunkbeads, fuseball, couches, a TV, and table. We had a great time, great location, and a very beautiful home.

This listing is absolutely perfect in every way! It is even better than the photos! The furniture is very comfortable and there is plenty of everything (dishes, pillows, blankets, additional kitchen supplies). The quality of everything is top notch. The finishes are very durable, so you don’t feel like you have to be super careful. The location is perfect. It’s close to the beautiful downtown Blowing Rock and the Parkway, where there are beautiful views of the mountains. It was really just an amazing stay. I would highly recommend staying here!

Brookview is a wonderful home in the Blowing Rock area. Very clean and well maintained cabin. It had the perfect amount of room for us and two other couples. It is in close proximity to all the sites on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would definitely rent again.

The cabin is absolutely beautiful with very good furniture, bedding, rugs, decor. We loved it! The kitchen was well equipped (we like to cook), too. I would just add that there is no hot tub but there is a jacuzzi bath tub. Perfect size for two couples / two couples with children. With 6 dining chairs, it would be challenging to accommodate more space-wise. We'd definitely go back!

Great cabin for our family.....plenty of space and a well stocked kitchen......just wish the brook had been the stream I had pictured in my head but that is on me! Would definitely rent this cabin again!

Some friends and I were there for hiking. Great location close to Blowing Rock. It's a well equipped, attractive, and comfortable house. It was clean and everything worked. There are bedrooms and bathrooms on all three floors, and two large decks overlooking the woods (one screened in). There were only three of us, but it can comfortably hold two to three couples and children. Highly recommended.

Wonderful property for a fun weekend exploring Boone and Blowing Rock! The home was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch playing games and cooking meals in the kitchen. The location was perfect for visting Boone, Elk Banner, and Boone.

Our stay was amazing. The cabin had plenty of room for our family. Great location not far from downtown Blowing rock. Be prepared to not have any phone service, but the wifi was great. John was very responsive. Looking forward to staying again!

This is a beautiful house perfect for a weekend or even longer getaway. We stayed for the weekend and the house was super close to Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain. Perfect for a ski weekend.

Absolutely loved the house!!! Everything was just as described, very quaint mountain cabin in a very quiet neighborhood. Convenient to Blowing Rock & Boone. Our group had plenty of space to spread out or gather all together in the den/dining area and enjoy the fireplace and fellowship with one another.
I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a week or weekend getaway!
Our groups main reasons for traveling up to the area was to volunteer at Samaritans Purse- Operation Christmas Child (packing and inspecting shoeboxes to be distributed all around the world). But, the time spent at the house was awesome. We enjoyed relaxing, playing foozeball, roasting marshmallow around the fire pit, and of course all the space!! This is definitely one of those houses you want to keep on file so you can stay in again. Thank you again John for being so hospitable and sharing your home with our group.

The cabin was immaculately clean and in a beautiful setting. It was just as pictured and described. We only left the cabin once to drive to Blowing Rock and it’s just a short 15 minute drive away. Will rent again!
If I had to have a con about the property, it would be the trash situation. You’re only allowed to leave two bags of trash and there isn’t an outdoor bin with lock and enclosure like I have seen at some other rentals. It wasn’t a problem, because you can pay a small fee and leave for cleaning service. Another minor problem is the refrigerator did not keep our beverages/food very cold.
These were minor inconveniences because overall the cabin was spectacular!

A perfect location nestled in beautiful trees and mountain laurel with easy access to downtown Blowing Rock. John was great with our pre-trip planning. Plan on doing this again next year.

This is a beautiful, very clean home that is convenient to Blowing Rock and the surrounding area. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. It was comfortable for everyone and our grandchildren especially enjoyed their downstairs living area. When we plan a return trip to this area, we will definitely check availability for this home first!
