About this house rental
Situated in Kanab, this lovely house for $180 per night is a great choice for your next trip. The Poppy House, so named for it's golden bricks and bright red roof, has all the convenience, comfort and character you could wish for in a vacation home. The house is located in downtown Kanab, walking distance from restaurants and shops and several local trail heads for hiking. Recently remodeled, the house is equipped with all new paint, flooring, appliances and furnishings. Upstairs, the house has two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a queen-sized bed, as well as a full-sized bathroom. The living room has a large flat screen television, complete with Apple TV, Netflix and an enhanced speaker system. The clean, spacious kitchen has been newly outfitted with everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal, including high-quality pots, pans and knives, a coffee maker and tableware for 12 people. The eat-in kitchen has a table that can expand to seat 6. The downstairs bedroom includes a king-sized bed plus a daybed/trundle with two twin mattresses, and a sitting area with it's own flat screen television, Apple TV and Netflix. The large downstairs bathroom is complete with a shower and jacuzzi tub for soaking after a long hike. All beds have high quality mattresses, linens and pillows for your home away comfort. Bathrooms are stocked with travel-sized toiletries, including bath salts for the jacuzzi tub. You'll find everything you need for your morning coffee or tea in the kitchen. One of the biggest perks of staying at the Poppy House is the large, completely fenced in, grassy backyard. It is suitable for pets, kids, volleyball and other outdoor activities. There is a large, shaded patio with a BBQ and outdoor seating for 4. There is even a 'cattery' should you have a cat sleepover from Best Friends during your stay! The house is equipped with wi-fi, central heat and A/C, washer and dryer and has possible trailer or RV parking in the back yard.

We enjoyed our stay. Host was very responsive with questions. Nice central location for the parks and volunteering at Best Friends. At one point we were seven people, and accommodations were a little snug, but we made it work! Thanks for hosting.

We are a group of 3 middle-aged women staying in Kanab mostly to volunteer at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - so a good rest is essential. The Poppy House has very comfortable beds, is scrupulously clean and has a wonderful lawn in the back with a patio where you can read a book or host a few friends. The appliances seemed new and worked really well. The kitchen is well-appointed, so you can cook a meal when you want to, although the Poppy House is within easy walking distance of several restaurants. I will gladly stay there again when I feel the itch to visit Best Friends again.

Loved the large fenced backyard for our pups. We also appreciated the furniture coverings as I am sure the property manager does also. I liked the older, pioneer era, feel of the house although it’s been updated with all the modern conveniences. It’s centrally located near heart of town. We would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at the Poppy House. We were in town to volunteer at Best Friends, but it also happened to coincide with the Balloons and Tunes festival and we were just half a block away from the fair.
The house was very cozy and warm through some cold nights and snowy weather (seriously, I wish our windows were as good as the windows here!) and perfectly stocked for everything we needed. Everything in town is about 5 minutes away and less than 10 minutes to Best Friends.
We were planning to bring an overnight dog home with us from Best Friends and let Ginger know ahead of time. When we got there, the house was already prepped with covers on the couches and a nice bench with blankets and things for the dogs.
Overall we had a great time and hope to stay again in the future. Thank you Ginger for all your help and consideration during our stay!

This home was perfect for us! The location is in a quiet neighborhood and close to the parks, hiking trails, and attractions we wanted to visit. Communication with the owner was on point - including a last-minute message that might change how we packed. The large, fenced yard was great for our family and our dog. The beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked for preparing our own meals. We would definitely recommend this to family and friends, and we will stay again when in the area. A wonderful cottage a short walk to Downtown Kanab. Quiet neighborhood. HUGE grassy fenced backyard that our 2 pups totally enjoyed!
The Poppy House has the most complete House Guide we have seen to date. Every question answered, tons of info on sight seeing, hiking, restaurants, etc.
We brought our own firepit with us (approved by owner) and enjoyed our evenings under the stars. A lovely neighborhood with ZERO light pollution.
We will keep this one our short list so we can stay again if we get back to this area.

We had a code enter home no problems easy location to zion and Bryce and several other attractions. Had a great time looking forward to coming back again

The property was as expected with all amenities listed. We had an issue with the AC not functioning properly. Since we arrived at 8:00 pm we slept with the windows open as the desert night air cooled the house interior. I emailed the owner that morning and within 30 minutes she had arranged for the AC repair company to service our rental.
By midday we had full AC. No other issues occurred.
The kitchen was well stocked, The back fenced yard and covered raised deck were great for our dog and dining al fresco. The beds were comfortable for all my family members. The home was in walking distance to a nice multi-use city park and Kanab hiking trail system. We could also walk to nearby restaurants and shops.
It is a great place to come home to after full day trips to the surrounding national parks of Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. Multiple Utah attractions are close as well but we did not have enough time to explore those options. I would recommend staying at this home.

The Poppy House was the perfect hime base for exploring Zion and Bryce. The house was well equipped and comfortable and the yard was perfect for the dog.

Great Property & Host
The property was clean and nice. We enjoyed having the downstairs area with our kids. The yard was fantastic and we even used the hot tub. Ginger was very responsive and a wonderful host. Only issue was the AC stopped working in the middle of the night and, despite Ginger’s efforts we had to go without for a couple nights due to the holiday weekend. There were a lot of fans but the temp got up to 82 inside at night which wasn’t very comfy. I’m sure she will have it fixed for the next guest. I would still highly recommend Ginger and her properties, which should say a lot.

Great Location and Comfortable Stay
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in Kanab and explored Bryce Canyon and nearby sites. The beds are comfortable and the shower was powerful. This was perfect for us and the dogs. There's a big back yard with 2 gated areas for the dogs and in the house there's a door that separates the kitchen from the living room which is perfect for keeping the dogs separated from the rest of the house. The house sleeps like 8 people and there was a big basement area we didn't even use. Next time we will bring more people with us. Can't wait to go back!

Overall nice stay, central location for Utah adventures
We had a nice stay at the house, it was a little bit of a funky layout for our family but I think it could be a nice house if people needed individual space for different groups.

I looked at other properties when choosing the best location, and my main reason for choosing the Poppy House was the large backyard for our dogs. And it was a great choice. The backyard is VERY large, and my dogs loved playing outside. There is also an outside cattery if you are traveling with your feline friend, which is very nice. The house is obviously dog friendly as the couches had very nice removable dog covers. The house is on a nice street, close to downtown. You can walk everywhere if you want. The electronic keypad on the door made for easy check-in and entry throughout or stay.We only used the upstairs as it was just the two of us, but I peaked downstairs, and the downstairs bedroom is huge.The house had all the amenities you will need to make large meals. There is a propane BBQ in the back yard. Ginger sent a detailed list of all appliances and utensils in the kitchen prior to our arrival, which was great so that I didn't bring things that were already provided. The internet is very good, and I was able to easily work each morning. Kanab is a great town, and we spent the entire week hiking. If you can make the drive, visit the White Pocket. Amazing House and Backyard
I stayed at this house with my Mom and Brother over 4th of July weekend. The house is great and you couldn’t ask for a better backyard especially if you are bringing any dogs with you on your trip. Perfect location, excellent communication with Ginger. Will definetly look to book this house again on my next trip.

A perfect red rock residence
The house was perfectly situated near trailheads and local amenities.
The kitchen was very well equipped, as we were able to make birthday cakes and complex dishes without having to purchase pans or cooking excessories like measures.
A great setup for families, since there is a seperate downstairs, complete with bath, sitting/viewing areas etc.
Last, if you are coming to Kanab to volunteer at Best Friends, the owner has outfitted the house with toys, leashes, blankets etc.
