About this house rental
Located in Center Point, this lovely house for $359 per night is a great option for your next break. Welcome to the Day's Away River House, located on the beautiful Guadalupe River in Center Point, Texas. Center Point is situated halfway between Comfort and Kerrville and halfway between Bandera and Fredericksburg, only 50 minutes from San Antonio and approximately 30 minutes from Hunt, Texas. The water is deep and the river is wide at our breathtaking half acre retreat. You can barbecue, swim, tube, canoe, fish or just relax by the water. There is a wonderful upper deck & lower deckthat runs all the way across the back of the house that is covered. The perfect place to view the river and watch your kids bounce on the trampoline, swim, or jump off the dock into the river. We also have a rope swing and a slide into the river. Don't forget to bring the marshmallows to roast over the built-in fire pit on our large 2 level flagstone patios down by the water. Gas and charcoal bar-b-que pits too. Our precious house is fully equipped to provide a marvelous vacation you'll never forget! ***The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (sleeps 8). The master bedroom has a king size bed. The guest room has a queen size bed. The third bedroom has a double bed plus a set of bunk beds. There is one pack-n-play for your little one. We also have an ***optional*** detached cabin with bath available (sleeps 4 more). Our detached cabin is located right next to the main house and features a queen bed plus a queen mattress in the loft. Kitchenette with coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator. Smart TV, DVD, & VCR. ***We only rent the cabin as an add-on to the main house, please contact us for more details. We are walking distance to the dam and a lighted public park. This is a beautiful property on the Guadalupe River. Close to Boerne, Comfort, Kerrville and Bandera. We spent our first day at Gruene Market days - a bit of a drive to the house - but Gruene is worth the visit. The Singing Water Vineyards are a must. Every evening we enjoyed sitting on the porch/balcony enjoying the view.

Didn't like - Communication - Wasted time on morning of travel confirming property instructions with VRBO call center
Didn't like - Mattress pads were dirty. Housekeeping needs to wash ALL bed linens. Not just top sheets.
DIdn't like - Smell - Faint smell of dead animal in wall or under floor. Owner attempted to cover it with plug-in air freshener. LIkely cause, owner uses rat bait poison.

Property was very nice, clean inside, no issues. Said it slept 8 but that was 3 beds and two bunk beds. Probably my mistake, just saw 8 and thought 8 beds.
Property manager was very responsive, whatever you need she will assist in. She called before to tell me there was another cabin that slept 2 she would rent for $80 a night if needed.
River was more of a pond, overgrown lillie pads and color was green. Trash and good amount of snakes floating in it as well. Across the river was a parking lot where groups of people gathered and did doughnuts with their cars each night. If you’re looking for meth, you can get it at the dollar general a few blocks away, plenty of addicts roaming about one asked if we were looking for “trouble” trying to sell dope. Mexican food spot down the road was excellent though.
Wouldn’t take kids, ok place for group of friends if the water cleared and you’re good with being 40 mins from Fredericksburg and 45 from SA.

Day's Away House was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming and just relaxing. Becky was excellent host and easy to communicate with.

Day's Away is the perfect getaway from the hustle of everyday life. The pictures represented the house perfectly and Becky was all you could ask for in a host. She communicated everything upfront and ahead of time and made the whole process simple. The kids loved the rope swing and kayaks and fishing off the dock. Great place to spend with family and getaway from screen time. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be booking again next year. A+++++ all the way

My family has a yearly tradition where we get together to celebrate my dad's birthday. This year he turned 82! We definitely enjoyed our stay. Everyone has a wonderful time. House is just like pictures. We cook a lot and they had almost everything. Just need to bring your spices. If you have little ones bring life jackets. Teen boys enjoyed the kayaks and fishing. Got them away from the screens.

Becky was super quick to reply and answered any questions that we had.. the property is beautiful even though we're having a drought the water was still really nice because it was right next to the dam.. only problem I had is that I needed one more day to stay there! we're looking forward to staying there again in the future! We have stayed here multiple times. Owner is available and very helpful. Water is always deep enough to swim, and they have their own rope swing. The floating dock is very entertaining for all ages. Houses are very comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. Great outdoor spaces- I do wish they had a pool ladder to make it easier to get in, but besides that it's perfect!

Our second time staying and the house gets better and better. Many nice improvement from our first trip 2 years ago.
Of course, the backyard is the star of the show. My kids spent hours fishing, swimming, and bouncing on the trampoline. We also made sure to take the canoe out and watch the wildlife.

The property is gorgeous! It was perfect and so beautiful and relaxing. They have everything you could want by the river. We really enjoyed just chilling by the fire pit and river and feeding the ducks and relaxing. The dock is awesome and fun to hang out on. We didn't try the kayaks or canoe or slide or rope swing but they looked nice. The outdoor area is perfection!

This is a great cabin, super clean and great location. We have stayed next door to this cabin and always looked at it with envy. This cabin is beautifully furnished, beds are super comfy and it has everything you could need or want. We didn't use the tiny attached room but we had some cancellations. We will definitely return in the future.

What a perfect place! We loved the lodging! Then on top of that, there was a trampoline, a floating dock, row boat, a fire pit, & more!! We stayed here while we were in town for a Stock Show and it was the perfect respite from barn life!!

This place was great, rode snowmobiles, right on the trail!! Perfect!! The house was great, clean, it’s an older two story but the upstairs in the winter was perfect nice and warm!!! Would rent again!!

This is our second time staying at this property. We love it here. The only downfall is the lack of seating in the living room,(seats 6) and the bedrooms are so small. When the Central heat kicks on the bedrooms are way too hot. Not enough circulation. We love the extra bathroom that has been added on.

The vacation home was in a peaceful place on the river. The outside space was perfect for relaxing with our family! The only thing we’d change is more seating in the living room and dining room, but we brought in two bag chairs😁and made it work. Thank you💝

Great lil place off the beaten path. Super cute and a comfortable sleep. We saw deer every morning and the ducks are sweet. The river was everything we wanted it to be, we attached 6 tubes and took the boat out for a ride and we're out in the water for 5 hours! So much fun!

Family weekend that we shared with some close friends. Wonderful river house in an ideal location. Plenty of room inside and very spacious outside. Beautiful lighting for evening fires and fishing. We caught over 50 fish between 2 and 7 inches long and a 17 inch catfish. We saw deer, ducks and a beaver! We plan on coming back again next year (for yr 3)!

We had a great time at the Days Away house. It was very clean, had everything we needed, and location is the best especially for kayaking the Guadalupe. We’ve done this Trip many years at this same time and this was the nicest house. Has a wonderful two level deck for just sorting out and watching the river, nice floating dock, and many amenities inside the house. Becky was wonderful getting me the information about check in, etc and was just a phone call away for questions. Would definitely return here!
