We got excellent support in exstending the stay of our visit on short notice. The property management company was really easy to work with. We arrived late at night after driving thrrough a storm. We locked the keys inside the house and got this quickly resolved at 1:30 in the morning. Very gratful for the quick and proffesional help. The residence is located in a quiet area above the village with all the ammenties that make a trip like this amazing. Ski lockers, laundry room, board games for the family that are age appropriate for children. The local shuttle service can take you to and from the village using an app to setup a pickup. We had an amazing weekend. This is a loft style home with an on suite bath room with a queen and bunk beds upstairs. The view out the window has the gondolas going by. This is an excellent choice for a budget minded family of weekend with friends. We will definately stay again !

Arrived at rental at 5PM after a long day of travel. Rental was not cleaned; dirty towels were everywhere, kitchen was unclean and garbage had not been removed. Called the support number where we were told they would send over someone to clean. 3 hours later and the rental was still not available. Tired kids and parents were disparately in need of rest. During the course of calls inquiring about status of room and if we would be compensated for what was a VERY inconveniencing day. Instead of concern or empathy all I received was an older gentleman yelling "Call Evolve. Call Evolve"
It's sad that our first experience was so poor, and it could have been easily avoided. Space was nice and in such an awesome setting. Would rebook if I wasn't concerned about the possibility of that repeating. See prior reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem.

Try to contact someone because it was hot and the fan wasn’t working never heard anything from no one and my family and had to deal with all the heat.

The condo was very dirty - hair in the shower and on the bathroom floors and the carpets were not clean. The beds were uncomfortable and the bunk beds were EXTREMELY squeaky. The rental office closes ONE HOUR after the 4pm check-in time, but there was a procedure in place to mitigate this issue. The condo has a number/digital lock on the front door, but the management company makes you pick-up keys from the property office, which makes no sense.

The condo is within the walking distance to the Condo run ski trail. It has many board games, Lego duplos and books for kids of all ages. The kitchenware is good, with pots and pans of stainless steel.

At that point, I don’t even want to go back to that condo.
One week later, I still don’t have a refund. This is the worst experience ever in renting a vacation property. Never again I’m going back there.

The water heater broke on the second day of our stay. The support that we got was not timely. We needed to make a bunch of phone calls to follow up on the issue. It was really torturing to take multiple cold showers in such cold weather.

There are three flights of stairs to enter the unit. The unit was filthy when we arrived and even though the cleaning lady arrived after we called, there are some things that cannot be unseen.

The second night we gave up on the mattress all together and borrowed an air mattress from a local friend. The bunkbeds upstairs were NO BETTER. They really are sized for children under 5' tall. My teens said it was like sleeping on a pool raft that has leaked out most of its air.
On top of all that, once we checked in we found a note on the TV that said the cable TV was not working so we could only stream movies from our phones. Really disappointed....I hope they use one of the nights rental fee we paid to buy some new mattresses.

Just to let know that the pictures that are advertised, were extremely old and the place was pretty run down. I called the management and they stated "so, what do you want me to do about it" . I was so frustrated I ended up hanging up on them.

Everything has been done with quality workmanship and classy decor. Nice second story condo with a loft and cute windows in a well decorated wall that overlook the main floor instead of just a raliling. Beautiful counters, cabinets and well designed bathrooms. Rustic trim on modern walls. It's at the top of the Northstar condo area so you drive through the nice village then up the hill a bit more so that only forest is above the parking and buildings. It's a bit narrow like all condos in the area but didn't feel too closed in for a group of 4. It can sleep 8 but has comfortable seating for about 3-5. Great laundry a door away shared by the floor of the building that doesn't require coins. Thanks for a nice stay!

Luckily we were able to get ahold of them and handle it fairly quickly, otherwise I'm not sure what we would have done and we had 4 tired kids with us. So overall happy with the place and the location but I would make sure to have everything triple confirmed with the property manager.

We arrive on Friday just to be told we were not getting the house that we booked. We were told by the rental company we were lucky that we were getting at another house. Even though we were paid in full. The house we were given was a complete rundown mess. I am very disappointed and may never use VRBO again. The management company was useless in solving the problem and again told us we should just be happy we got something

The place overall was fine... but a couple of things to note:
1. You have to pick up physical keys for the unit (even though there is a keypad on the door). The hours for pickup are very limited -- check in after 4, office closes at 5... we were coming up from the Bay Area and had worked out arrangements to get the keys after hours. They were supposed to be in an envelope in a mailbox by a vacation rental office by the Truckee airport. We arrive, find the mailbox, but no keys... it took an hour to get someone to meet us which was super frustrating -- especially when we got to the unit and saw that there is a keypad for the lock...
2. The unit is billed as "ski-in, ski-out" -- we had rented a very similar place over Christmas that truly was ski-in, ski-out -- you walked behind the building to the village run slope. This unit is not really near that area -- it's way on the other side -- you have to walk with your skis and poles maybe a quarter mile. It's true that you don't have to get in your car, but it's not as convenient as the units that are located on the other side...
3. The unit was missing things that I thought would have been there -- dish soap, dishwasher soap and toilet paper. I could have brought some if someone had mentioned that those things wouldn't be stocked.

This is the 8th time I have stay at North Star and always enjoyed our stay and the units we stayed in. I had read the reviews on this unit and silly me thought those issues would be resolved. They were not. Not enough towels to supply all occupants of the unit it said it could house. The unit is very cluttered.
