About this bed and breakfast
Located on north Douglas Island just 2 miles from Downtown. Full Kitchen. Gourmet whole bean coffee, Coffee pot, French press and electric kettle even a crock pot. Basics like salt, pepper, olive oil provided as well as laundry detergent and dishwasher packs, an iron/ironing board, salon quality shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer, first aid kit, fire extinguisher. Washer and dryer. Covered deck with a view. 1 bedroom w/ queen bed and a queen sofa bed. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Wifi included and a parking space.
I also broker tours. Ask me about adventure planning as I have a lot of knowledge in the area. Whether it’s just a simple hike and you want to know what trails to do or if you want to go on a helicopter and tour/ land on the glaciers, or go whale watching (100%guaranteed to see whales or your money back) Dogsledding, kayaking, etc. Free Mt Roberts Tram Passes with your excursion bookings. We weren’t aware that this rental was in a trailer park with active traffic of full time residents in and around the unit. Some of the neighboring units were nice and kept up, but some were very much falling apart with folks living in them with neighbors working on their vehicle not 5’ away. No shade on where lower income people need to live, but isn’t the most comfortable for a vacation stay. Once inside, the owner did their very best to obscure this fact with frosted glass etc and the accommodations were very clean, cheery and well maintained. Beach is a bit of a stretch, edge of a tidal wetland more like it. You can’t really walk down the beach since it is tidal mud flats with lots of slick rocks, sea weed etc. Fun for a little marine biology exploring. It would have been nice to have an informational placard. As it was, we were exploring the trailer neighborhood and muddy “beach” on our own unsure if we were intruding onto other people’s spaces or not.

This was our second stay on this trip to SE Alaska from Fairbanks. Enjoyed staying on Douglas island -close to great walking trails for our dogs.
