About this cottage rental

Situated in Trentham, this lovely cottage for $155 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Lynden is a historic cottage conveniently located in the centre of Trentham. It provides a perfect location for couples or families seeking a quiet weekend away or a relaxing holiday. Set among other traditional weatherboard homes in one of Trentham’s more historic streets, Lynden Cottage is a 3 minute walk from the town centre, while also being in easy walking distance of the beautiful Wombat State Forest. Lynden Cottage was built in 1884, and has been fully renovated with polished floors, while trying to maintain its original charm. A modern kitchen provides all modern features, including dishwasher and microwave oven, along with a beautiful baltic pine table that seats 10. There are three bedrooms able to accommodate 7 people, one with a king size bed, another with a queen size bed (and TV), and the third with a bunk bed and a single bed. All beds have electric blankets. There is a washing machine and the house is set on a large half acre block. A restored miner's shack dating back to the 1860s is just behind the cottage and is available to guests. We are pet friendly. The yard is fully fenced and secure. You are welcome to bring your dog inside, but we do ask that you do not bring them into the bedrooms, or allow them on the furniture. We also ask that you clean up after your pet (i.e. hair, droppings). Trentham Falls, at over 30 m high and Victoria’s longest single drop waterfall, is only 2 km away. Lyonville mineral springs is 10 km away, while Daylesford, Kyneton and Woodend are each a 20 minute drive away. A short stroll away you have access to great cafes, Red Beard Bakery, the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Hotel Trentham. We were traveling to Trentham to go to du Fermier for dinner - we also travel with two dogs. This cottage was perfect! Walking distance to all that lovely Trentham has, great facilities and the dogs had as good a time as we did! Paul (host) was responsive, generous and professional.

We found Lynden cottage easily and the simple instructions gave us all the information we needed to light the wood heater, warm up and settle in. The lighting and paintings provided a warm cozy atmosphere. The kitchen is big and well equipped and there is an option to sit outside under the trees and bbq dinner. We were three adults and there was plenty of room and also privacy.

Cute and cosy cottage right in the heart of Trentham. Lovely warm fires to enjoy inside and out. Beautiful garden. Cafes and shops close by and within a short drive to Kyneton and Daylesford. Dog friendly and secure yard.

Just spent ~1.5 weeks at the property in Trentham. Everything was perfect for my stay, the bed was super comfy, all amenities worked well including the internet. The yard is huge and well fenced for those with dogs. The street where the house is (and Trentham in general) is lovely and quiet, but there's plenty of options for food, shopping and of course there's The Cosmo all within an easy 5 minute walk. Paul was great to deal with and very prompt with his responses. If/when I come to Trentham again, ill be sure to look up this property first to see if it available.

We had an awesome long weekend away in Trentham and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lindon cottage. The property was great for sunny and rainy days, both for us and our dog. Favourite features were; fireplace, old-style bath, miner's hut out back with seating / fireplace, huge yard and outdoor furniture. It was located closer to Trentham main street than we realised - not too close, but the perfect walking distance. Paul, the host, was responsive and made our stay easy. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay for our 10th wedding anniversary! The cottage is very rustic with modern conveniences. A comfy king size bed in main and very warm with fireplace and potable heaters. Walking distance to Trentham main street and has a huge enclosed garden that our dog Reuben loved! A quiet weekend during major floods in other areas. Daylesford and Castlemaine close to drive. Fabulous eateries and gift shops. Owner Paul was terrific with communication too. Thank you!

Perfect cosy cottage - plenty of heating options for the cold of a Trentham autumn, lots of space and privacy to the rear of the property. Well provided kitchen in terms of utensils etc and big kitchen table. Quirky (large) bathroom. Terrible DVD selection though! LOL.

Gorgeous wee cottage perfectly suited to a gourmet weekend away with your dog. Large fenced in yard, well appointed kitchen and ample wood for the fire to curl up in front of with a good book. Plus, a very short stroll onto the main street offers an amazing bakery, delightful provedore and a great pub! Great hosts and would definitely stay again.

This is my second stay at this lovely, homey cottage. Close to the main street, with fireplace and plenty of wood, electric blankets and everything you need in term of kitchen appliances. Fenced yard for the pup who enjoyed sniffing for rabbits and walking the rail trail.

A beautiful old style house with all the modern high quality appliances and comforts. Our dog Rufus enjoyed the big and fully enclosed backyard. It's a beautiful part of Victoria to visit during autumn due to the spectacular colours of European trees around the Trentham lake, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, Kyneton Botanic Gardens and other historic places.

Loved our stay here, beautiful old place with fireplaces inside as well as in the awesome miners shack outside. Short walk into town and fantastic garden area for the dogs, and to enjoy a wine.
