About this house rental
Located in Nelson County, this attractive house for $160 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Beautiful cabin in the woods! Welcome to our home! This beautiful mountain cabin is located on the top of Wintergreen Resort, and we are pleased to offer your family the same stress free, relaxing getaway we love to come enjoy! The house is a perfect for fit to enjoy Wintergreen with family and friends. It has a great open living and dining area on the middle floor where groups can spend their time together, as well as an upper and lower floor that offer quiet and privacy. There is wonderful wood burning fireplace and firewood is provided. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the pots and pans you will need and there is even a gas grill. A Keurig and regular drip coffee pot are provided, bring your own K-cups. All linens are provided, one set per person. The entry way to the home is very easy access with a flat driveway(steps are required to get to the front door). There is a wraparound deck on the main level, privacy deck attached to the master bedroom and a lower deck for the two lower bedrooms. The “stairway to heaven” puts you on an observation deck with seating and a serene view perfect for a picnic or evening around the fire pit. Wifi, Roku and loads of old DVDs can fill the downtime. It is in a great location with easy access to skiing, snow tubing, outdoor swimming pools and tons of hiking trails right out the front door. The Mountain Inn and Conference center are also a short distance away. • Ski Access/Mountain Inn and Plunge tubing: 5 mins by car inside of resort to Mountain Inn/Ski main parking. • Hiking: 700 yards to the Shamokin Springs Nature Preserve and trail. We are also centrally located to other nearby attractions such as wineries, breweries, several apple and strawberry orchards and fishing. • Wineries: There are a ton! Veritas is about a 30 minute drive and has great wine and even better views. • Breweries: 15 mins to Devils Backbone and Blue Toad Cidery. Several others within a few miles. • Distilleries: VA Distillery Co. has great Whisky and Silverback has a smooth vodka! • Orchards: Chiles Peach Orchard is 45 mins and Carter Mountain Apple Orchard is an hour away. Dickies Bros Orchard is about 30 mins on a beautiful mountain drive. • Fishing: You can fly fish the Tye River for Browns and Rainbows and the Upper and Middle James for small mouth and much more. We are NOT club members. This means when you stay with us you will NOT have access to the fitness and aquatics center. However, daily family club pass are available for purchase through the resort with spa service purchase. The only way to get access to these amenities is to book through Wintergreen Resort or to have guest passes from a member. We have recently added air conditioning for the summer. Although, it usually stays pretty comfortable year round on the top of the mountain where we are located without it. Fans and open windows are quite comfy! One fan is provided for each bedroom. **Sorry, no pets allowed.** A $510 deep cleaning fee will apply if this rule is broken and the pet will need to leave the property immediately. Please accurately enter the total amount of guests. The price shown is for maximum number of guests allowed at the property at all times-6. No parties or events are allowed. Any guests over the maximum amount of 6 are subject to extra person fees($50/person/night) unless previously discussed. **There are outdoor security cameras located at the entrances of the home, which are “on”, for your safety, security of the property, and wildlife.

The house was very comfortable. We had a quiet, relaxing weekend with our daughter (weekend escape from college). We spend part of the day at the Oktoberfest event hosted by the club. Both evenings we saw coyotes running around - very cool to see.

Cozy home in the woods
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet home in the woods. It is an ideal size for 2 couples or a small family. The layout makes it perfect for visiting and it has everything you need. The host responded immediately to any questions and check in was a breeze. It is just a short drive to the outdoor pool and there are incredible trails throughout Wintergreen. Lovely decks (upper and lower) are surrounded by trees and a forest of ferns. The beds are very comfortable. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Nice weekend getaway!
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin! It was perfect for our family (5 people). It was cozy and had everything we needed for our long weekend getaway. It was close to golfing and nice hiking trails, and the owners were very friendly and responsive.

It was a descent home. Did a 2 day birthday trip in March of 2021. Houses are a good distance apart which was good for us talking and laughing as loud as we wanted.
House was not bad for 3 friends. Each room offers outside access and privacy.. Communication with owner was not bad at all. Responses were relatively quick.
However, after paying an average of almost $400 per night with taxes and fees, you'd expect the house to be clean. Upon arrival, house was dirty. Microwave filthy, counter tops dirty, towels in room not freshly washed, towels not folded in dryer. Left over items from previous guest. (No one wants a used bar of soap in the bathroom so I know it was left over) we checked in during the pandemic so I'd expect a freshly cleaned house but it was not freshly cleaned or sanitized. I know because my friends and I had to wipe everything down and the status of the wipes used showed exactly that. The house was not clean nor sanitized. The sheets even smelled used and musty. For paying such an expensive cleaning fee, I was expecting everything to be freshly cleaned and washed. Disappointing 😞 owner basically did nothing but offer excuses and took notes. (She should have refunded the cleaning fee atleast) We did check out early due to safety reasons (looked like someone broke in and we didn't trust doors we had no access that were locked in the house) overall, not a bad property but not the cleanest.

The space was clean and had everything we needed. Opening the windows kept the home cool despite not having A/C. This property is tucked away in Wintergreen away from any busy streets. Easy experience with checking in and out.

This house in the Blue Ridge Mts was exceptionally clean. It's a beautiful location in midst of a forest. The house is stand-alone, with plenty of privacy. Host's communications were prompt, clear, and helpful. Several fans are on site in case the absence of air conditioning might otherwise make it too warm. When we stayed there in mid-May it was plenty cool, with no need for fans. Very large vehicles might find maneuvering in and out of the on-sit parking a bit tight, but for our mid-sized SUV the parking worked ok. Be aware that the drive from the resort entrance to this rental can take 10 - 15 min. There are a few restaurants within a 10 to 30 min drive, and beautiful Sherando Lake Recreation Area is nearby (beach, swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking).

Private Hideaway
We spent a lovely 3 day getaway at Kirstyn’s wooded cabin. We enjoyed the fireplace (with wood provided) and particularly the “staircase to heaven” (raised deck surrounded by woods), which was a great surprise! The upstairs bed was very comfortable. Great hikes in Wintergreen and wineries close by. Check out the Veritas Winery.

Perfect Mountain Getaway
This cozy mountain cabin was perfect for three friends looking for a break from our usual day-to-day routine! The location is beautiful and just far away enough to be quiet, but not inconveniently remote. Kirstyn was a pleasure to work with, prompt communication to answer questions and make recommendations. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

We had a lovely three day stay. The house was a perfect getaway for our group of moms and small kids. The house location was perfect- easy to pop over to the mountain but still felt cozy and in a quiet neighborhood. Kirstyn was very responsive and flexible. Great experience!

Perfect mountain getaway
Just wrapped up a perfect week in this lovely cabin home for Christmas. Ideally sized for our family of four, we cooked in every night and the home had everything needed to do so. Spent two days on the slopes, which is a short drive away (even had time to drive back to the cabin for lunch one of the two skiing days!). Kirstyn was highly responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Highly recommend, and we look forward to staying there, again, in the future!
P.S. The homemade sandwiches at the Devine wine/coffee shop just down the road from the home are delicious!
