About this house rental
Nestled in Middle Smithfield, this charming house for $239 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Bushkill House Rental Photos and Description A secluded cottage on a beautiful, serene acre (plus) waterfront lot The property is 1 1/4 acres in a secluded quiet area with no visible neighbors. It is a place to connect with nature and enjoy true peace and serenity. You can fall asleep at night listening to the sound of the running water and wake up to the sounds of nature. Read a book on the deck or take afternoon naps in the hammock. Fish from the back yard. The creek has native trout and is stocked. Watch the fish jump out of the water from the back deck. See the deer crossing the creek and a blue heron searching for fish on the rocks. The deck has a picnic table and a grill for outdoor eating. There is a patio with adirondeck chairs and a fire pit to sit around at night and watch the stars. There is a kayak for you to use in the creek to relax or fish and river tubes to float. You can use the beach chair if you want to just sit and cool off with the water running over you. This house is bright and cheerful with lots of light. Art fills the walls giving it soul and colorfulness. It is a magical place filled with inspiring pieces from my travels. OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY... There is a path across the creek to walk along and a small lake on the top of the hill. THIS HOUSE FEATURES... One guest bedroom, 1 large bathroom, eat in kitchen, living room with a wood burning fireplace and high cathedral ceilings, a sun room with comfortable furniture and a laundry area. The whole back of the house has windows that look out onto the creek. There is Wifi, television, DVD and a stereo CD player. There is a portable floor air conditioner in the kitchen and living room area and ceiling and floor fans in each room. Most of the time it is cool enough that it is not needed. I love to keep the windows open to hear the sounds of nature and the running water. The guest bedroom has a full size mattress, desk and dresser. The sun room has comfortable modular furniture that you can sink into. It can be rearranged to comfortably sleep 2 persons... This room overlooks the creek with 2 large windows and a sky light. There is a folding standing divider if you want privacy. Dogs are welcome, however, they are not allowed on the furniture. Luna, the neighborhood dog most likely will visit you during your stay. She is super- friendly and most of my guests and their dogs love her and her visits. (see reviews) Local Activities and Attractions: Nearby Pocono attractions include Shawnee Ski Mountain, Shawnee Water Park, Camel Back Ski Mountain, Camel Beach Water Park, Bushkill Falls, Resica Falls, Dingman's Falls, Delaware River beaches and rafting, Stand Up Paddling, 25 miles of hiking trails (McDade trail), Pocono Bazaar Flea Market, antiquing, museums, , PEEC (Pocono Environmental Education Center), Winona Falls, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Appalachian trail, cross country skiing, miniature golf, wildlife viewing, tubing ,restaurants, cinemas, sightseeing, white-water rafting (Delaware River), canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, hiking ,biking, and so much more! There are no community amenities for this house.

I booked the "Yellow Magnolia" as a surprise for my Wifes 40th birthday.
I read the reviews and looked through the photos and new it would be the right place for us. Upon arrival, my wife and i were blown away by the setting. The photos are great but to see it in person is an amazing experience. The outside portion of the property is close to perfection. The veiws are beautiful and the sound of the creek is intoxicating. You cant help but get lost in the atmosphere. The inside of the house, is beautiful, tons of natural light and very inviting. The furniture was clean and very comfortable. There wasnt any part of the house that wasnt inviting. Bathroom was clean and the heated toilet (complete with bidet) is something we cant live without now hahaha. The bed was clean and comfortable. The sun room has a nice radio, books and a smart TV. All worked perfectly. The internet was easy to connect to and kept up with all our online needs. Theres plenty of shops and restaurants around. We didnt need to drive more than 10mins for anything.
Overall, this property met and exceeded our expectations. We will most definitely be returning in the future. The only downside we found was we couldn't stay longer.

Everything was as "advertised". Home is lovely, comfortable and well stocked with the basics for cooking, sleeping, showers etc. The sound of the creek is amazing and its nice and remote. The ground is very wet down by the firepit but we put our chairs on top of a tarp and it all worked out. There is some paperwork involved that was a pain but no big deal and Barbara is helpful as well. Loved our stay

My husband and I just returned from a little vacation at this home. I read all the reviews stating how nice it was and can truly say they were all accurate. The home is small and cozy, has a fabulous view, secluded location in the water, just perfect for us. We are already discussing a return visit.

Beautiful property & cottage which has a lot of fabulous artwork. The downside is the bed was a full (which we were aware of), so my husband slept in the sunroom. The toilet was heated and I loved it. However, there was a shelf right at knee level which made sitting on toilet a little awkward for my husband. I imagine any man would have the same issue.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely home on a creek. The moment you arrive your feel calm. The area is quiet and the scene is spectacular. We went on several hikes in the area but spent our afternoon on the deck viewing the creek and listening to the sound of the creek. We plan on visiting again.

Two adults and two dogs enjoyed our stay at beautifully decorated house and property. The dogs and I loved wading in the creek behind the house. We didn’t use the fire pit because the surrounding area was muddy. Our stay coincided with a heat wave - happy to report that the AC works fine!

We enjoyed our week at Yellow Magnolia. Sitting on the deck listening to the creek was very relaxing. One day we saw an eagle fly down the creek. Luna came to visit almost every day. She is a very sweet and loving dog. Barbara provided us with all the details needed and she answered any questions promptly.

Beautiful setting; clean, comfortable home with all the amenities you could ask for in a rental. Plenty of wildlife to watch, deer, fox eaglets, etc. And, a welcoming neighbor dog named Luna, who my puppy thought was the absolute best thing ever. Very sweet dog! Also, Barbara was so easy to reach for any question you might have about the area.

We enjoyed staying in your home.We did spend a lot of time outdoors and had a chance to spend some time with Luna each day. We were disappointed a little because the music and cd player didn't work. There weren't any dish towels and cloths around. The coffee pot was terrible. The grill ran out during dinner. The cleaners weren't very clean. There where some lights out throughout the house ect.. I'm not trying to be mean. I just want you to be aware of these things! Otherwise, your home is beautiful and I enjoyed the art work and all your wonderful things!

My boyfriend, me, and our dog booked 4 days at Barbara’s beautiful home after seeing a friend of mine stay with her family, and it did not disappoint! Not only is the location beautiful, but Barbara is amazing and actually let us switch our days when our original long weekend was plagued by rain storms.
We all loved lounging on the back porch listening to the stream and watching the wildlife, and our dog loved hanging out with Luna (the neighbor dog), though she is quiet and startled him at first when she first showed up! She is super friendly/gentle and they had fun playing.
The small path across right across the creek opens to a little, deeper/quiet spot where we went for a dip and our dog did too!
We also went to Bushkill Falls hike, which was about 10 minutes away from the house and gorgeous.
Beautiful home, beautiful surroundings, and wonderful host. Thanks for having us, Barbara! Can’t wait for our next stay!

Words can’t describe how wonderful this little slice of heaven next to the most beautiful nook on the river truly is. When we pulled up our eyes lit up with amazement on how lucky we were to have this gorgeous home all to ourselves for 4 days. The house is a piece of art in itself. Everyday I found something new in the artwork and tiny little gypsy touches that just warmed my heart. I wanted to stay forever. Looking out the window and seeing the cranes, deer ducks and assortment of Forest birds on the feeders was so soothing and mystical. One of my favorite places we ever booked. I can’t wait to come back for every season. Just amazing. Just got home today and we already miss Luna and the Mountain Laurel. Thank you Barbara for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We left you a candle that matched your decor in the kitchen. It belonged with all the rest of your lovely pieces of art. Hope to be back soon :)

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. It is a beautiful place with the most outstanding view of the river, wildlife and hillsides! So relaxing to sit and commune with nature and listen to the stream from cozy sitting areas inside and outside the house. It's a great place to take a hike with access close by to many trails and creeks.
