A perfect stay

Lovely apartment, absolutely perfect for a stay for myself and my two young people. It was within walking distance of everywhere that we wanted to visit and had been supplied with everything that we could have wanted, eg fruit, cereal, bread, milk, etc, which was an unexpected bonus. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Ideal option for staying in St Albans without paying a fortune!

It does what it say on the tin, a straightforward accommodation in central St Albans. Comfortable room, large shared bathroom and a well equipped kitchen with some provisions provided.

Excellent Value for Money, Good Location , Pleasant ambience . Great for a short stay

The host was friendly and there to hand me the keys on arrival. The location of the appartment is excellent Cosy friendly bedroom in a 2 bedroom appartment Self Sevice breakfast

Not much I didn't like. Parkings a bit of a problem although not for non car personnel

Very basic but ok for a one night stay,

Great location, not busy so no need to share bathroom. Drinks and snacks available.

Could do with a complete renovation, everything old and worn. The keys were difficult to use and panicked me at one point as I could not get out. Could hear everything that was going on in the room above.

Disgraceful host

Nothing

After 3 hours of attempting to contact the host, he sent me a text message to inform me he was away, the accommodation was fully booked and he didn’t know how I managed to book. He then wouldn’t answer my calls and wouldn’t even have a conversation with me. Disgrace of a host and a property that shouldn’t be on this site. Do not book!!!!!

Location and host were great.

Amazing location for Central St Albans and dog friendly

Everything feels a little tired. The fridge door wouldn’t stay shut. There is nowhere comfortable to sit apart from on the bed.

Great value, good comfort, attentive host.

A great location for getting to the city centre and the Cathedral. The place was warm and homely, the shower excellent, the kitchen set-up was well stocked for breakfast, with facilities to cook if you needed to (bring non-dairy milk or other specific dietary elements if you need them) and a little table to sit at with two tall chairs. The host, Barry, is kind and attentive and very organised. It was brilliant value for a Saturday night in town. The decor is neutral, and might need a little lick of paint in the bedroom, but the floors were very clean, as was the bedding. In the bathroom there is an iron and ironing board, a spare heater and some hair straighteners - very thoughtful! There is also a golf umbrella to use in a stand in the hallway and shoe/boot rack if things get wet/muddy.

Another couple of hand towels would have been useful as we were sharing a bathroom so it's nice to have your own, plus I was my long hair so I need an extra. Somewhere in the bathroom to hang your towel while you shower would also be good. The car park is a pain, which is no fault of the owner. small spaces (our car is normal size and yet, on leaving, the driver's seat couldn't be accessed because of a car parked next to us, and if you don't have the Pay By Phone parking app getting a 24 hour ticket seems to be impossible via the machine. One twin bed is very bouncy, the other seems quite small and the pillows aren't super-supportive. The room was next to the pavement and a few louder people went by our window (there is a pub close by) but we got used to it!

wonderful staff and rather cozy although didn't block outside noise too much but wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't halloween.

a little warmer but I am sure it was just because the cold was unexpected

Nice hotel

The hotel is very well located in St Albans opposite the Abbey and very convenient for the centre of town. Nice hotel common areas and the room comfortable. Lovely walk in shower.

Ideal location for visiting St Albans or overnight stop travelling

The location was ideal and we were able to take our dog . Plenty of nice pubs and places to eat nearby. The owner left a lovely spread for breakfast, tea and coffee facilities were great . We were met by the owner when we arrived who couldn’t have been more helpful. Parking in an adjacent car park was easy.

Absolutely lovely

Good communication with Barry before arriving, he is such a lovely guy. Place is in walking distance from everything. The room is cozy and lovely, everything you need. Met a lovely lady from the same country who stayed there for the same thing, that was an added bonus.

Location and host were exceptional - ironing board, iron and hairdryer a massive bonus and we had a bbq outside as a family which was great too

This was cheap and cheerful accommodation - perfectly fine for staying overnight. If you want somewhere to stay and you're not bothered about frills then this place should suit you.

A step back in time, a look to the future

It reminded me of visits to granny and gran dad, a similar terraced house in the 1960s-70s, some similar period paintings and decor, but with things granny didn't have, like flat screen TV, DVD player, and internet connection.

Location excellent parking paid just across the road entry to apartment east located down from two pubs not noisy at all

Confused about towels not sure I was aware we had to provide our own also some instructions for washing machine would be nice

Comfortable room in a great location - recommend

Excellent location within 5 to 10 mins walk of St.Peters street. Car Park directly opposite so easy parking (pay for parking via card / app). There's a shared kitchen with a fridge, microwave and kettle, has tea / coffee / cereals / fruit / bread etc to grab some breakfast.

Shared bathroom - but suited us fine for this particular visit and we knew about it in advance - I just generally don't like shared bathrooms.

Great value. Clean and well equipped room. Helpful owner. Big car park just over the road. Pub in the same road Which does food. Use of kitchen.

Lovely apartment, fantastic city!

Comfy beds, facilities to cook if needs be. Brilliant bathroom and shower! Friendly host, who gave us great advice on what to do in St Albans and where to eat.

The location suited us perfectly

I can sum it up in two words: dilapidated and dirty. Added to that was the fact that it was incorrectly described on the booking web site as “ a private apartment” and an “entire apartment”. In fact it was a room rented in a terrace property with shared bathroom and kitchen. Nothing private about it at all and certainly not an apartment. From moldy bread for “breakfast” to dirty kitchen this just wasn’t pleasant. The booking website says parking is available at a cost of £5.30 per day. In fact that amount will get you precisely 4 hours of parking. A full day is considerably more.

It wasn't great, but it was cheap. You get what you pay for, but expected slightly higher standard.

The room itself was fine for a one night stay, bed was comfy bedding clean. Plenty of cereal, milk, bread etc for breakfast, decent microwave, toaster, tea and coffee stuff. It was in a good central location.

Bathroom could have been better, there was water dripping from a big crack in the ceiling. There was a lot of noise from other people moving about upstairs, and a lot of noise from people walking past the window after leaving the nearby pub. It wasn't the most restful of stays I am afraid.
