We really enjoyed our stay at Orchid Garden. From the many porches and the large rooftop terrace you have amazing views of the bay, ocean and surrounding islands, as well as the stars at night. The location is nice and secluded on the quiet side of St. John but close to a variety of activities like hiking, swimming and snorkeling. Ric and Lolita were very welcoming and responsive, offering tips for places to eat and things to see nearby. We would love to come back again in the future.

This house is an absolute gem. It’s on the quiet side of the island (so you need a car and it is kind of far from restaurants) and is super close to Salt Pond, hiking, and great snorkeling. The house is full of amazing art from all over the world and the rooftop has breathtaking 300 degree views. The owners are so kind and live below the rental. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing, funky, oasis that you never want to leave - this is it.

We had a wonderful experience visiting this property in Eastern St. John overlooking Caribbean Sea, Coral Bay and beyond which in distance the British Virgin Islands. It is surrounded by beautiful tropical garden with countless varieties of flowers including orchids and with numerous birds including Humming Birds, Sugarbirds and Black Bullfinch! The overall decor of the house is Far Eastern with with numerous curios and artifacts from Thailand, Myanmar , Bali, India and Vietnam it looks like a living museum. The terrace-rooftop is large spacious brilliant white color with statuettes from Far East and a large red Pagoda in center. I used to get up early morning and with a cup of tea in my hand, sat under the pagoda and spent self reflective, meditative time welcoming beautiful colors of dawn and then Sunrise across the sea and surrounding islands. Very peaceful, serene, positive moments of the day! Bursting with positive energy. The whole house is a photographer's delight! Besides land scape photography I had great opportunity to conveniently do some night photography from roof top! The Hosts, Emily and Rick were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the island , sightseeing places and made us feel comfortable and at home. Night before we left we all spent great time over the terrace watching Moonrise over the water with a glass of wine and appetizers! We felt sorry to leave the palace but someday if opportunity arises will be back Manu Tejura

Gorgeous location and a new discovery every day

This property might lack all the latest convenience features (TV, dishwasher, disposal, modern plumbing) but it more than makes up for it with all the unique artwork and spectacular views. The hosts are most gracious and accommodating. Location requires a car (specifically a Jeep) but also provides privacy and gives you the opportunity to enjoy nature at its finest. The convenience features are NOT missed!

Views from the roof and porch are unbelievable. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We had a nice, relaxing stay here!

I’ve been to St. John many times but have never stayed in the Coral Bay/East End area. My experience at Emily’s property was wonderful and I’ll definitely be back. The place itself was so cool and tranquil and had multiple patios and nooks for hanging out and relaxing. The gardens were lovely. But what made this stay stellar was the rooftop and the 270 degree views of St. John and the BVIs!! The pictures online do not capture the beauty! Emily was a great host and was always available for questions. We will most certainly be back!!

We had an incredible week at Orchid Garden. We started and ended each day taking in the spectacular views from the rooftop. The view is truly unbeatable! After driving the winding hilly roads of St. John, it was an added bonus to have a flat driveway and ease of parking. Lolita welcomed us and showed us around the house when we first arrived. We did not need to contact her during our stay, but she was available if we had needed to. We appreciated being able to use the house phone to make a couple calls, as our cell phones were connecting internationally to the British Virgin Islands. The location of the house was perfect for us - quiet and somewhat remote. It’s a quick drive to Salt Pond Bay, which we came to enjoy very much, and when we wanted to go to the North or Cruz Bay, it was only a 20 to 35 minute drive. I wish I was back on that rooftop now, getting lost in the clouds!

We had the best time at the Orchid Garden. It’s a really unique place with amazing artwork from all over the world and a glorious rooftop. The views are incredible. Great location on the quiet side of the island with nearby beaches and restaurants. Ric and Lolita were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed hearing about their travels and playing a few games of chess. Very roomy with outstanding outdoor space topside on the roof, equipped for everything. Villa-Gravity is definitely in play here. The tremendous hosts have filled this wonderland with art, statuary and curiosities from Bali and SE Asia. A visual treat that brings a vibe that you won't find anywhere else on STJ. This place will not disappoint.

Standing on the top deck of Orchid Garden and looking out at the beautiful Caribbean sea energizes your body, mind and soul! This home is a treasure in the Island of Love and we highly recommend a stay guaranteed to rejuvenate you and create magical moments and inspiration beyond words. Lolita and Ric are fabulous hosts and very accommodating. Johnsfolly is a great, secluded location with constant breezes and magnificent sunrises everyday! The house is adorable and has many magical places, interesting art and obviously built with an abundance of Love and passion for Life!

The hosts were incredibly accommodating and gracious. While they lived downstairs, they were very respectful of our privacy. The place is absolutely magical, with art and style from all over the world. And the location could not be more ideal-- Coral Bay on St. John is just heaven on earth.
